Have any of you ever successfully gotten a cheater banned?

I just watched a group of cheaters tag-team 4 of my level 10 gyms in town (that you have to walk to, at 10 pm) and they were dumb enough to place themselves in the gyms afterwards. Have any of you ever confirmed that a cheater got banned after you reported them?

I personally don't have reported of anyone, but some cheaters nicknames was disappear on my area!

None ever get ban.

Well, the one clear cheater I reported, whose name contained "spoofer" has not been seen again.

So I believe the answer is yes.

Please, honest players, don't just get mad - report!

He just quit the game probably. Spoofing is the short cut to the end game and there is no real end game content now.

I have, I believe. Or they just got bored and stopped playing. Nevertheless, report them if you're sure they're cheating. Maybe Niantic will sort out this mess and our prayers will be answered.

I'm not sure, but I provided clear proof of some players cheating (video of players taking gyms in the middle of an empty square) and nothing immediate happened.

Niantic can't rely on photos and videos. Hopefully, if they are doing anything, they investigate a reported username to see if their account is suspicious looking. They won't just flat out ban a reported user - what is to stop evil people from reporting their enemies? I like to take down level 10 gyms legitimately - should I be afraid to post up afterwards in fear that they will report me and I get banned? Face it, people are stupid on average and a system where we rely on people to be honest is a foolish system.

Also, regarding "video proof" it's never enough. Niantic does not know what every area in the world looks like. For all they know, there could be an underground tunnel or someone could be sitting up in a tree and playing. Heck with today's technology people can edit the video or even just lie about its origins. You're naïve to think otherwise.

I once reported two cooperating players who bubblestrated gyms with numerous fake accounts and were dumb enough to name them foo1, foo2, foo3 etc., haven't seen them again
