Machamp moves prefection

I've had this question why is counter/Close combat rated B, the non fighting type Bullet Punch/DP, B too?
Just can't stand it.

Bullet punch is a great move to building the charge bar up.

They must perform similarly and therefore rated the same

In terms of neutral damge, probably, but when you take matchups into account, C/CC should perform quite a bit better, as it hits for SE damage against Blissey, Snorlax and Tyranitar (2x SE vs 1x SE from BP).

It's likely that due to the matchup data after testing all the possible move combinations, that C/CC and BP/DP perform at a similar fraction of performance as the Counter/DP.

However I do agree. I can't forsee how a steel move that does less damage, loses stab and super effective damage will perform at a similar level as two fighting moves. Probably a B+ and B-, and C/CC is indeed listed above BP/DP anyway.

GP Rates movesets by their cycle DPS, and even witout STAB BP/DP's DPS is not that far from C/CC's, the one thing that ranking fails to take into account is type advantage, and while fight and steel have 2 overlaping type advantages (rock and ice), steel doesn't hit SE vs dark and normal pokemon, which is the most prominent use of a machamp (Blissey, Snorlax and Tyranitar), so even if both movesets are about equal in raw DPS, C/CC should have the edge in the matchups where you actually want to use a machamp.

Yeah, I just evolved a Machamp with C/CC at 91IV, Lvl20 (1630cp). I am trying to decide whether to (1) power it up with the 156 candy I have, or (2) leave it as a high-ish CP prestiger and "roll the RNG dice" to evolve a Lvl 29 wild Machop with 51IV in the hopes of getting C/DP. Thoughts from folks who've used both movesets?

Power it up, unless you are a very patient person and/or have no real need for a Champ.

C/CC is good, and although DP is better, chances of rolling that set is slim.

Just look at the green area higher number means higher damage. The data is calculated without dodging.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFkcX3Up1XE I like this for a comparison. Barely any difference between C/CC and C/DP in battle. I'm very happy with my lvl 30 98 IV C/CC.

I have evolved like 15 machamps and only got 1 with C/CC (84%)
Here they are quite common so i am still trying for a C/DP...
Estadistically should have came earlier...

I really have bad luck with machamps and charizards but good for dragonites. I only have two and DB/DC and DT/O

I have 6 machamps, all have BP. I am so sick of evolving machamps now.
