RIP gym defender
Welp, my long time vape who was defending some random gym in North Texas finally came home to roost.
I had him there for just shy of 4 months, so he netted me about 1200 coins.

Mine wasn't all that hard to find. A 15 minute walk from one side of a county park. There's a back entrance not as many people know about, but it's not that hard to find. It's somewhat out of the way, and I'm sure the winter weather helped. It's a suburban area with a fairly active gym scene. (The most I've had any other gym there last was ten days). I think it's about time. Most people don't want to bother. I haven't been there in a few weeks myself.
I had a DB/DC dragonite stuck at the top of a gym for about 7 months. I was so happy to see it return to me last month as at the time I put it in the gym I didn't know what a great attacking moveset DB/DC was.
My current records is now about 5 months in a graveyard. Then I have others out there that sit for about 3 months at a time until some high level player comes an clears out the gym in which 24 hours later its back to level 10 and I'm sitting on top for another 3 months.
Had my MS/SE Rhydon in Maryland for a little over 3 months. It was my only reliable source for daily coins, every gym around home is stagnat level 10 Mystic and Valor, any gym that gets Instinct is lucky to get level 10 and even luckier to last more than 20 hours. So bummed when he returned a couple days ago, had him there since new years.
I've had a Vaporeon in a gym since late Nov or early Dec, so that's about 5 1/2 months.
Before that I had a Tentacruel in a gym for roughly as long, but it got kicked out by a shaver. I see that gym every week and it only changes about once per month (when new shavers come by) so I'll probably never have access to that one again.
My longest of all-time is also around 4 months (a Snorlax that miraculously managed to not get shaved for three full weeks after it had been bumped down to the bottom spot). I have a couple of Blisseys that have been sitting pretty for over a month now, they don't seem like they're going to budge anytime soon.
Out of the 25-30 gyms in my area, usually none of them are blue, so any time I claim one for my team, it's usually gone in minutes. The one exception is the gym a few minutes' walk from my house, because I make sure that one stays blue, and have had a Rhydon in it for a few weeks now. I almost got kicked out a couple days ago, but whoever was attacking left it at 21k, so I walked over and powered it back up to level 10 again.
