CP per power up after trainer level 30

I think I'm confused on something about being past trainer level 30. I was originally under the impression that CP per power up was halved after the pokemon itself reaches level 30, but I just hatched a Snorlax with CP 1718 (obviously not a level 30 pokemon), powered it up, and got 21 measly CP points, so now I think CP gain is halved after TRAINER level 30, not pokemon level 30.

Has anyone else observed the same?

Powered one yesterday, I think it was 36 per level if I remember right. Trainer level 30. That's weird man.

You powered it once, which is only half a level. snorlax's CP gain per level is about 40-45.

CP is based on the CPM stat which is only based on pokemon level.

I thought I recalled getting 40-45 CP per power up (not level) for my other Snorlax, but maybe not.

Snorlax gain is 40-45 per power up, so the double per level.

I am level 30 and powered one Arcanine normally today till the pokemon reach level 30.

Are you level >30?
And did you try powering up some other pkmn?

I'm level 31. It just seems like I'm getting a lot less CP per power up than I used to.

I have the same doubt. I'm at trainer level 28 and never really knew if this reduced CP gain comes after the pokemon itself reaches lvl 30, or the TRAINER level is level 30.

As far as I could read, its all about the 'mon level, not the trainer level.

No doubt that when the pkmn gets level 30, then cp gain per pwer up is halved.

I hope that nothing changes when trainer level goes to 31.

POKEMONS POWERED UP TO LVL 31 that means you are LVL 30 cp is halved AND ITS NORMAL!

Our friend Possum1976 is questioning about TRAINER LEVEL, not pokemon level.

Possum is at Trainer level 31.
He powers up a pokemon from level 20 to 20.5.
How many CP gains the pokemon?

Sometimes leveling up gets bugged and then it gets fixed on its own. I have suffered this in the past, I powered up a Vaporeon that was really low for its level and each power up gave me 80cp, after 1 or 2 power ups, it started to give me the normal 40cp.

I think this would be the case. It doesn't make any sense those 2xcp if the Snorlax is 20.5 lvl. The op should try to keep powering it up. It will eventually get fixed.
