Battles won
The other day i was traveling to a small city that have 3 gyms. So i placed my 2868 blissey after i took down that one gym. My pokemon was alone all day till it came back with 1 battle won. I was wondering how can that happen as i was the only trainer in that gym (i could see it from hotel). It seems unbeliavable that one opponent with 6 pokemon lost by my blissey without times up. Any idea what happen?

As much pleasure as it gives to read this in connection with one's own mon, I believe this stat is just broken.
A similar thing happened to me last autumn: pre-nerf I put a freshly leveled up lapras in a level 3 gym for the first time in that mon's life. It came back to me about an hour later when the gym was torn down by the opposition - with a "battle won" distinction (which I noticed as soon as I sent it into the next gym).
Much as I would like to think that it just outperformed in its very first mission, the truth is that I don't buy it. Furthermore, isn't it interesting that almost one year into the game, still no one has come up with a plausible (and reproducible) explanation of how to trigger this stat?
