GamePress

Suggestion to Q&A.

I come here to suggest the creation of a forum, could be independent or an update of this Q&A section.

This website is really amazing and this Q&A section is being used not just for questions but for many other stuff like discusions, showing advancement of players and many others. I think a public forum would fit perfect on this site. Like how it would be?

Threads saved on multiuple pages. Once someone reply on some post this post go to the top. If none reply thread X in Y days it gets closed and go to the buttom. You can like/dislike posts, and maybe even some kind of pop on ur profile when someone reply on your posts. I'm not a master in forums so those are just some suggestions, it could be completly different that this but...

Having a forum on this page would be really cool.

kind regards,

Lof.

You were not the first one that suggested this but for now I believe it's still bot possible. Same reasons I believe. GamePress is being managed by a few people, or so I've read.

I would like that as well, but you run into the problem of having moderators and I know they don't have much of a staff. I'm sure people would volunteer, but I'm not sure how tight-nit they are trying to keep things.

I would like a feature to be able to message other members, or a notification from a reply to a comment as well.

I'm sure Gamepress has a good reasoning to it. Perhaps because the number of people that are contributing to this website is very little. However, based on the Q&A, I've seen some people who I believe are capable and motivated to help out.

Forum would be really amazing addition to this website imo.

A forum would be good but it costs money to run it.

With the ads on the site and the apps in the Playstore I doubt they make enough for a profit from the traffic from Pokémon, fire emblem heroes and shadowverse to make a a forum.

Even so it's already though to know who runs this site and if they even actively participate on it to know the community and it's needs or just comes in once in a while when there are new things in the game to keep site traffic going

"A forum would be good but it costs money to run it."

I own another game related website with a vBulletin forum. There was a small one time cost, but no further costs, so now it costs nothing to run. There are also truly free alternative forum softwares, with no initial cost. There is a time cost, particularly with moderators; but I'm sure many on here would be happy to moderate for free.

Not to mention there are already established and credible forums for Pokemon Go. At this point it would be slightly redundant and unnecessary.

Agreed. I find it quite awkward to have any kind of discussion in this Q&A. My posts are awkward to find if I check back, and I receive no notice when people reply. It makes me not bother to spend much time and effort, and instead write quick and simply replies. I'd much prefer a traditional forum (not trying to replicate other Pokemon sites with Reddit, more of a traditional discussion focused form such as vBulletin or similar).
