Porygon2 ?

I evolved my porygon and got a 999CP 91% IV porygon2 with ghost type hidden power and hyper beam.. any good? worth powering up? or what could I use it for?

There are some prestige angles to use Porygon2 but there are probably others better in most if not all instances too. Other than that the short answer is no if we are discussing investment. Remember that he has what should be a great future evo in PirygonZ though so I would save. (Gen4)

Porygon Z is only 20 base stat away from Porygon 2 or something, not sure how the CP formula would change that for Porygon Z CP but I don't think it will drastically different (it's a shame considering both Porygon 2 and Porygon Z have some utility in the other games)

I suggest to the OP to save the remaining porygon candies for the Gen 4 evolution anyway.

But Porygon Z has high Sp attack while Porygon 2 has good defensive stats and attack gets weighted more in CP calculations than defence or stamina. It's not just about base stat total, but also how they're allocated.

Plus Porygon Z has above average speed while Porygon 2 has below average speed, which affects the speed multiplier when calculating base stats.

Hidden power is a defensive move; but pory isn't a defensive Mon. Ghost typing is not helpful as is neither gets STAB, nor gets SE against fighting. If pory's flexible typing special ability is ever implemented, there's a chance of usefulness. Until then, he's a dex filler.
