Who is passively playing through Gen 2 waiting for the real excitement in Gen 3?

lol don't mean to sound ungrateful for Gen 2, but Gen 3 will change the whole meta. Imma start saving dust purely for Gen 3. A lot of currently optimal Pokémon will be non optimal purely because that gen was OP. Lol

I have never played any Pokemon game until pogo (honestly came out after my time... I grew up on Mario and Sonic) so I'm in the dark about gen 3. Sounds exciting though. What do I have to look forward to?

Lol soo soo much. First the starters are the most iconic since Gen 1. Lol Gen 1 will always be the most iconic but these 3 are soo soo awesome. 2 Psudeo Legendaries in Metagross and Salamence. Who I believe will challange Dragonite lol. A very very OP Rhydon and a more majestic Gary. Lol for the first time a awesome Fairy type!! Trust me Gen 3 was almost just as fun as Gen 1. I'll leave out the Legendaries for now but they're very Op too.. I grew up playing Super Smash, Mario, and Spyro too lol. The Mario mobile game was a let down..

Metagross will be the most powerful depending on movesett. Salamence will be a slightly weaker nite. Slaking will have to get knee capped over CP, otherwise it will break the game.

Besides that I'm waiting for gen 4, where some mid tier attackers / prestigers will evolve into gym worthy meta breakers. Tangela to Tangrowth will break vape meta. Not to mention the most powerful non-legendary dragon in the game, Garchomp, will run through defenders. Rhydon becomes Rhyperior with higher CP than Tyranitar.

If you're passively playing through Gen 2 then what's the point of playing at all?

I'm playing like and aggressive mofo to once again complete my pokedex (6 more) and max out some top tier mons. Grinding the pidgey/weedle/caterpie trail is pretty norm too.

Ehhhh I'm playing more of Gen 1 atm. Nothing in Gen 2 really amazes me outside of Tyranitar and Blissey. At times I farm Dratinis, but I mostly play to attack gyms I suppose? lol The dodging aspect of this game is quite fascinating if only it didn't glitch so much would be way more fun.

Seriously... you may be dead when the gen 3 is released hahaha jk. But it will take more than a year im sure. They will probably keep us until there with legendaries events (and there is a lot of them to do... Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Entei, Raikou, Sucuine, Celebi, Lugia and Ho-Oh.

Shedinja and Milotic and Slaking is going to break this game and fork Niantic up their aces so bad, though. Can't wait to see how they will implement this sheetfiesta.

Well I am heavily looking out for Chansey and Larvitar evolution chains, but aside from these, I am in no rush to complete my gen 2 Pokedex, as I am fairly confident I have more than enough time to do that before gen 3...

I think Niantic needs to bring in or bring back more casual players to remain a success. The upcoming gym rework will not likely do this. But adding more Pokemon to collect for the Pokedex will. The Legendaries are not enough quantity-wise, so I expect Gen 3 to be released late this year. However, I am not playing passively in the meanwhile. I am enjoying Gen1/2 and looking forward to feeling the same about Gen 3.
