Eevee evolution failed?

I walked 10 km with Eevee, changed the buddy. Then evolved Eevee into Vaporeon. Shouldn't it have been Espeon? Did I miss something, like restarting app or something?

Did you make sure it gave two candies? The game sometimes registers 10km as not actually 10km candy-wise. If you didn't receive the two candies, it will fail.

You should not have changed the buddy. The Eevee has to remain your buddy while evolving.

If you hadn't change your buddy before you evolve it, it will be an Espeon.

You need to evolve him while he's still your buddy. Otherwise he'll evolve into one of the gen 1 forms. You got a vaporeon, so you shouldn't really be complaining thou.

I use this thread as a reminder as I don't have my Gen2 eeveelutions. Sakura into Espeon and Matao into Umbreon?
You guys probably gonna laugh but Eevee, especially with good IVs, is a real find for me and I have just 2 to evolve. 1 is 810 CP and the other, hatched at 524 CP, both with 15 HP. Which evolve into what? Thanks.

you've given the Cp's but not IV's
use your best IV one for espeon or random evolutions
(all three have there place but espeon and vaperon are probably the most powerful)

you will probably not wont to spend much dust on umbreon who is still decent but not as good so I would favour cp over IV but I would still not evolve anything less then a wonder

(unless you are swimming in eevee candy and it is very high cp in which case you get an instantly usable mon esp if it goes vape)
