How many are willing to track the eggs that they pick up and the hatches after the event start with me? I should be able to open quite a lot and I know some of us have saved coins just for this purpose.
If we can get a good pool together to look at I would be happy to compile some numbers so we can all get a better idea of how or at what rate things have changed. This can help everybody gauge how or if they want to invest in this event.
We would need to be diligent to only track eggs received after the event start time.
Data needed: Egg type, species hatched, candy awarded.

I'll post mine, though I don't know how many I'll be able to hatch. Also, the smart strategy is to clear out all your old eggs first before you start hatching the new ones, so there may be a day or two lag before the data on the new eggs start to come in.
But as for looking at the data after the event, I'd be very curious to see how it shakes out.
Even if they do not change the rarity that mons are dropped but only their egg designation there will be more 2K eggs received. The quantites will be tied to how they shake up rarity tiers and we will not have any concrete idea of that until after the event is over most likely. But the simple answer is yes, you should roll more 2K eggs during this event than usual.

I'll be picking up 6 eggs on the way home from work, and I'll deliberately NOT hatch the 3 older ones until after the event is over.
I'd suggest one more piece of data to your collection, it may or may not make a difference, but the date the egg was acquired?
