Ryhdon and donphaan

I am desert and rock. Biome and For some reason donphaan ( phanpy ) wild catches is pretty rare but ryhorn is more available , so my question is which is better and do I really need to stress on having a good donphaan or is it the same as rhydon , weaker stronger ?

My biome is the same. All of my phanpies have come from hatches. I run into a Rhyhorn every other day. I wouldnt worry about the big elephant. The rhino is better with a higher CP for placing in gyms.

I thought so , what about stamina tho ? Higher or same ? And I also hatched I did catches once or twice from the wild

Even though it's a ground type, Phanpy seems to spawn primarily in grass biomes in my experience.

Anyway, Donphan is a fun guy to use (mine has Counter/EQ) on either attack or defense but he's not particularly good so I wouldn't stress over not having one.
