The new event and nests

I went to a nest near my house this evening, which usually has very few Pokemon and only a spawn or two per hour of the nest type (currently Onix). Due to the event currently going on, it had several Onix in it at a time, and many other Pokemon too. Are nests that normally spawn Pokemon more often also spawning way more than usual, or is it just because this nest normally spawned so few that it has many more Onix in it now?

What new Event?

I noticed increased spawns but I figured that was part of the massive tweak that Stops give more stuff but no driving and Gym prestige changes

It's an event to celebrate the release of dailies, with more items from Pokestops and Pokemon around. It lasts through Friday.

Yeah, it's awsome! I was running last night and was seeing spots with literally 10-15 Pokemon huddled on top of each other. I was having to stop to catch when normally I can keep moving.

Now's the time to stock up on great balls on ultra balls. Hit those stops like they owe you money!

It seems like there must be somebody else who has visited a nest since this event started. I'd love to hear whether the event made as big of an impact at your nest.
