MS/EQ - The Real Potential of Rhydon as Attacker.

Good morning, afternoon or night my friends.

I need some arguments by semi-pro and pro players please! I have some points:

Earthquake is the best for attack, the simple reason is about the multiplier of damage, the coverage of ground its much better than rock.

The second point its about the coverage of rock type, the types that are weak to rock are strong to ground, its the problem of rock. Earthquake, by coverage and dps, is the best for strategy too.

The third point its about the Rhydon's with MS/EQ is the natural killer of Tyranitars.

This is my most powerful Pokémon and its my favorite!!!

I don't find the coverage of Ground typing to be any better on attack than Rock. In fact I find it much worse - Stone Edge can hit Gary, Dnite, etc for SE damage and since the moves rework it's near impossible to dodge on defense. EQ doesn't hit any of the top tier defenders for SE damage, except Ttar and other Rhydons.

Yeah you can use MS/EQ in the mirror matchup and against Ttar but there are just so many faster + better options. I find myself using even RS/SE Rhydon way more than MS/EQ.

Ground SE into 5 types : fire, steel, rock, poison, electric
Rock SE into 4 types: Ice, fire, flying, bug

Ground has better coverage, rock is slightly stronger in current meta

This logic seems more designed for the main pokemon games than for Pokémon go. In PoGo, there really is a much lower need for concerns of coverage. Attackers know their opponents in order before the fight and opponents cannot switch. Beyond that, there is a largely limited move pool for each pokemon.

Let's say I face a gym with a gyarados and a dragonite. After beating it, I know what moves they have. If the gyarados doesn't have HP and the dragonite is something like DT/O, then a double rock Golem can hit both of them hard. Attackers have all the knowledge.

I wonder when Rhydon will evolve to Rhyperior if he can reach 4000cp because as Rhydon can get to 3000cp, and for your answer I think that he is more an attacker than a defender because he has so many different attackers like grass (venusaur, exeggutor...) and water (VAPOREON, blastoise...) so I guess that the first use of Rhydon is to attack Snorlax

He is an attacker and unfortunately, just a gym skimmer because of his high CP. You can take down a 3000 CP Rhydon with a 1200 CP Eggy or Vape no problem. Personally, I absolutely hate attacking with him. Mud slap animation is super slow and does hardly any damage. He is one of those mon that you are just sitting there waiting for your charge move. For me, attacking with Snorlax and Rhydon is really boring from just a gaming experience perspective.

Mud slap does hardly any damage? Based on what standard? MS does 4.41 Defensive DPS, which is more than steel wing and slightly less than dragon tail. On offense it does 15 DPS.

The problem is that it's so slow and you can only use it once per round if you dodge...Compared to Confusion, another slow move, Confusion on Exeggutor hits for 25% more DPS I believe...

I dont think there is any debate about confusion. It is arguably the best quick move in the game. Based on experience confusion and dragon tail are in their own league, at least on defense. Mud shot hurts a lot, but I am typically using a level 20 Tangela. On offense, it comes down to style. I actually prefer Sandslash because of his speed, but Rhydon does good damage and is bulky enough to take hits...thats his thing, he doesnt need to dodge against Snorlax.
