How bad is this eevee RNG?
Level 34 player,
Rainer trick gave a Water pulse vaporeon (with bad 37 iv, I didn't know IV can be found back in the day).
Sparky trick gave a Thunder jolteon. (82 IV)
Haven't used Pyro trick yet.
Sakura gave a ZH/Future Sight Espeon (91 IV)
Haven't used tamao either.
Random Evolves:
Distribution 14 Flareon,25 Jolteon, 14 Vaporeon
Wild catches: 3 Vaporeon. None usable.
2 Flareon. None usable.
And out of all of this, I have ONE usable WG/HP Vaporeon (15/4/15, 2627 CP, level 30). Two other HP Vaporeon at 1301 CP (<50 IV), 601 CP (83 IV).
Consolation: I do have a 84 FS/OH Flareon after gen 2...that's something I suppose

Answer: As with all pokemon, you pretty much only get good IV eevees through eggs.
I've been playing since the start, and have caught maybe 4 or 5 82%+ pokemon in the wild total. If I used a tracker at the start, maybe I would have found those wild 100% perfect move dragonites in the first two weeks that now populate the top of every gym.
Well, I'm level 33 and you're gonna be jealous of my Eeveelution RNG - all the name tricks gave me the best possible moveset, which had a 0,1% chance of happening.
- Rainer, WG+HP, 93% IV
- Sparky, TS+TB, 91% IV
- Pyro, E+FB, 89% IV
- Sakura, C+FS, 93% IV
- Tamao, FA+FP, 91% IV
Now they're all happy and maxed out. I guess you could call me the Eevee master lol.
Also, the distribution of my random evolutions has been 32 Vaporeon, 40 Jolteon and 37 Flareon. The only thing I still miss is a FS+OH Flareon now :(
