2nd best Dragonite's defensive moveset
Hi. As we know, SW/DP is the best move for a defensive dragon. According to gamepress, SW/HB is the second best. As we know too, HB is too easy to dodge and dont have STAB in Dragonites. So, is SW/DC the real second best move for a defensive Dragonite?.
Dragon Claw pros against HB:
very fast;
DPS with stab (highest possible for Dragonite w/STAB);
Harder to dodge.

Not exactly. For example Lapras IS/IB is A and mathematicly a little better than IS/B (A too), thats why IS/IB comes first in the rank. Its not just A = A, B = B etc. So not, all the three moves are B but not the 2nd best, theyre classified B and have different numbers. Besides this, im considering things that the numbers/classifications dont do, like HB and the facility to dodge, stab...
Dodging is not for everybody. There are some places who's got slow 4g, some has got low end smart phone, some are GPS spoofers, sometimes we encounter lags due to signal issues, and some basically sucks or doesn't have the skill to dodge, and also we cannot always predict when will AI use its charge moves that is why they are ranked B. Well in my opinion they are all equally 2nd best because they are of their unique advantages depending on different situations.
I think it comes to opinion. It's a skewed perspective getting opinions about hyper beam on forums and q&a. The people on here take it very seriously, tend to dodge everything, or claim to. Some are GPS spoofers who are sitting comfortably at home and are not in a hurry trying to beat the gym.
I'm a fan of hyper beam, even on dragonites it hits incredibly hard without stab. It causes the player to stop attacking for a few moments and still receive damage if they do dodge. If your phone registers your dodge as an attack you wasted a few seconds and take a full hyper beam. Some do not dodge at all.
There's no real way to say which is better, but as long as it has SW it's good to go.
Looks like you are saying that all B are the same thing, all A are the same thing...all A are 1st better, all B are 2nd better and all C 3rd better...its just not like that. Im considering the numbers and reality about players skills. If exist a pokemon that all moves are classified A, one of these will be the better and one will be the worst, even being A, the numbers are different. Besides that, players skills cant be ignored.
Not exactly the same.. it might be yes, or no that is why I said its very situational.. Here are my thoughts,
- I don't ignore a player's skill at all.
Ofc, this is true with fast Charge moves like Dragon Pulse. Sometimes just hsit happens and you won't dodge even if you try.
But slow charge moves like Hydro Pump or Solar Beam are really easy to dodge even in bad conditions which you mentioned, whilst HB is the easiest of all to dodge because of it's super transparent animation.
