Eggs and Candy

I really think Ninantic needs to up the dust/candy from 2k eggs. The range is two low that when you make a hatch, you don't really make enough progress towards 125.

In fact, has any one done the math and on a family like Machamp do trainers make less progress on evolving.

I know the math would be something like
Chance to get 5k egg * Chance it was Machop * average amount of 5k egg candy
vs
Chance to get 2k egg * chance it was Machop * average amount of 2k egg candy

Im not talking a massic upgrade in candy/dust but the average being more like 10 (say 8-12) would bring 2k eggs more in line I think.

Would certainly help everyone considering 2km eggs are better than 5km eggs IMO.

Get Machop (most important attacker to have now I feel due to Blissey (and Snorlax) and can KO Blissey faster than Dragonite), Abra, Gastly, Eggs (another great Blissey attacker who can solo her)...3 of those are 125 candies to evolve...

5km only has Rhyhorn which is a high CP gym defender outside of the 10km eggs.

Totally agree. 2km eggs both have a larger amount of quality mons than 5 km eggs and they are much easier to hatch. I pretty much actively hate 5 km eggs.

I agree with the OP but I do understand the reasoning from Niantic too. Per KM/candy they actually drop candy better than any other egg maybe. You have to walk 2.5x more distance to get 5K egg candy but if you hatched the same mon in 5K you don't get 12.5 to 75 candies which is what the 5 to 15 drop from 2Ks equates to. So when you hatch 2.5 machamps for the 2K egg you will get much more candy than the previous per KM rate from 5K eggs...which is just another reason that 5K eggs are terrible.

Since Pokémon have rarity tiers irregardless of what egg they are disguised by the real solution to better eggs and candy is to remove some of the junk Pokémon from eggs altogether.

2km eggs only give 5-10 candies, never over 10.

I think there must be some wrong info going around since this is the 2nd time I've seen this posted...

That said, you do get an avg of 7.5 candies per 2k egg and which is more candy for the same distance as a 5km egg (18.75 candies vs 15.5 for 5km).
