MOVESET: Who would be better?
✌️Trainers!
Silph Road lists Steel Wing and Brave Bird (GP does too) as being the highest DPS quick / charge moves in the game, currently. The only 3 mon that can learn this dual set are the ones in the screenshot.
My question, who would be the best mon for dueling, and prestiging of the 3, and why? Keep in mind only Skarmory gets STAB for SW tho.
Good looks.
Answers
I really don't feel anyone has answered my question.
- JH was commenting on his mon.
- Samuel stated it was better for prestiging in response to JH.
- Torres said Skarmory, didn't say why, and offered a different set, lol.
- KK commented on Skarmory being a prestiger and why he was solid, but I don't know if that was his answer or him chiming in on the convo above.
I'll reiterate, which of the 3 Pokémon are best when using Steel Wing x Brave Bird, considering typing and stats? Why? And what purpose?
For instance you could say Skarmory as attacker or prestiger because he benefits from stab. Or, you could say Pidgeot because his stats are all around better. Or, you could say Dodrio only as a prestiger becaue his attack stat is better than the others, but stamina is a lot lower.
Which one is better: Skarmory > Pidgeot > Dodrio.
Purpose: Generalist prestiger or prestiging against Exeggutor.
Why: Skarmory has better stats than Pidgeot and Pidgeot has better stats than Dodrio for the only purpose these mons are good for: prestiging. Skarmory also has stab on both moves, while Pidgeot and Dodrio only gets stab from BB.
With that said, SW/SA or SW/FC would be a better moveset on Skarmory anyway. And Noctowl with WA/SA is a better flying prestiger.
Skarmory for a prestiger.
That defensive level will give decent protection to dance around attacks for a lot longer, like all good prestigers need to. The attack means that you will be in the fight for a while, but that power per second of that moveset will more than make up for it, along with STAB on Steel Wing.
Will be a good general prestiger, and very good into grass/bugs if you see any around.
Dodrio has decent attack but is a glass cannon, with nothing to shoot at - and may be more of a glass pistol than glass cannon.
Pidgeot is a jack-of-all-trades and master of none. He has well balanced stats but is nothing outstanding in anything. Fun to play with, and I keep a couple around for fun - but I wouldn't invest in one.
Of the three, Skarmory also has the best typing to give the protection against a bigger range of foes.
Personally, I would keep the Skarmory in my collection.
TL/DR Skarmory for generalist prestiger...and into bug/grass - the rest can be disposable attackers/prestiger.
Just my 2 stardust anyway.
EDIT ...or just go with what Di Torres said above.
