what cp are your prestigers ?

i'm curious as to what level and what 'mons people use to level up friendly gyms. i have a range of types levelled to 1800, 1600 and now 1500cp and i favour the 1500cp range for fast prestige mainly because it's very easy to get a wigglytuff of that level (they destroy...) and most fights are against stuff in the high 2000's that i can beat 1on1 so i gain close to the max (1k) prestige per kill.

would like to know what people use for gym training and any tips for faster clears and also faster team selection (wish the game has an 'use last team' option)

I usually just go with this as my default team: Wiggly has Pound/Play Rough, Vape has WG/AT and Raichu has TS/Thunder

Wiggly 1064
Wiggly 1065
Wiggly 1067
Vaporeon 1070
Raichu 1133
Raichu 1120

Should usually take out 4 mons from the bottom, provided that they are not all snorlax or blissey. When the situation demands I then go to my 1300, 1400, 1500 Wigglys or the 1200-1400 Lanturns abd 12/1300 Golducks/Starmies to upgrade it from the list above.

These are estimate cp's since I don't remember exact amounts

Jolteon, venusaur, vaporeon - 1400
Machamp - 1600
Clefairy - 1300 (pound and dazzling gleam wreck dragonites even at 3k cp)
Raichu - 1100
Dewgong - 1000
Pinsir - 1500
And if a blissey is to high for machamp I have a 2400 eggy that I will send with other mons so I can just clear as many Pokemon as possible and still gain over 1.5k prestige.

That's what I mainly use. Those cover all the Pokemon types you see in gyms and they all have ideal Movesets.

As for tips on making it fast.. I don't think I do anything fancy. I have my prestigers favorited so they're at the top area of my poke box and as for clearing I just look at the gym and select a team and dodge everything like a madman. It makes individual fights longer but I'd much rather Beat 3-4 Pokemon with 2 or 3 of mine and gain like 3k prestige in 1 shot. That's my preference.

Since lately it is mostly blisseys in gyms, I have been using a 2k cp machamp, dragonite, and some eggs, around the same cp, to get my 500 points per battle.

Generally anywhere from 1200-1500 is the range I find most effective. You may not get the full +1000 prestige per KO, but it feels more efficient to me and I can clear much more of the gym with a team full of 1500 Wigglys and Vapes than if they were 1000-1200.

just to be clear, my main 1500 team includes :
golduck wg/hp - great vs rydons
dewgong & lapras fb/blizzard - dewgong seems to kill dragonites faster at that level
lanturn cb/thunder - great vs vapes and gyrados, would swap for thunderbolt though
and several wiggleys with pound and hb or pr

i don;t have a machamp at 1500 but primeapes/tyrogue types are all worse than wigglys vs. snorlax, and i don;t even try to use the above vs. blissey - i leave that to my 2200ish alakazam or espereon. covers the most common defenders though and unless i screw up a dodge on the trickier big moves like hyperbeam, hurricane, stone edge or hydropump they can beat stuff 1on1 and usually last for 1 1/2 kills vs stuff in high 2000's before i swap them out.

'mons that seem like they should be good but aren't :
primape (or any fighting, wigglys are better - not tried machamp)
poliwrath (i've not tried a fighting move one but water move is beaten by golduck and there are loads of other options)
jolteon - raichu with spark is better
any of the starters - blastoise and charizard are poor, not got a venusaur (or any grass) with good moves at that level

i'll try to test jinx/cloyster/gengar/alakazam but they all seem too squishy

I don't consider anything bigger than 1200 CP a prestiger. My team of prestigers ranges between 800-1200 CP with most of them being slightly higher than 1000. The reason is that I aim for max prestige for each gym defender I battle (unless bottom defender is as hard as a Blissey or high CP Snorlax). In my area top defenders in a friendly gym are quite high, but the bottom ones use to have lower CP. So, the bottom determine my max prestige and I aim for the maximum always.

The prestigers I use most are a bunch of 1200ish Tangelas as they hatch from eggs, 2400 - 2600 Vaporeons are the common gym bottom dwellers here and I use them for 80% of the prestigeing.

I mostly use 2x 12xx Tangela's (VW/PW) now since they were buffed with the recent updates and 2x 12xx Victreebells. Also have a 12xx Vap with (W/HP).

I'd like to build a new prestige team around 14xx now since a stagnant level 10 usually has 2800-2900CP mons in my area. Wigglys feel slow to me and I like to always get 1000 prestige.

For faster team selection, I've opted to rename ALL my "main" prestigers (about 10 mons) to something like 0001234VP (or something for a 1234CP Tangela). I only do this for the ones I use every day and not the ones which are 800 CP that I also rename, but without the 000 in front.

I stopped using _, - or other symbols since every update seems to re-sort these and breaks the order.

I have teams.
1600-1650 team is my highest. Its basically formed around 3 Exeggutors, with a Wiggy, Vap, 3 Elec, Flareon and is designed to be used against highly strong gyms. Goal is still a minimum of 3k amd preferibly 4k+ prestige a run, so that generally means I am beating 4-6 pokemon. I also use this when Im in a hurry and im just trying to level a 3-6 gym one spot for myself. 2k and gone.

My 1350-1450 team is anchored by a VW/SB Venusaur and Tangela. It too is filled in with typical vaperon, wiggy, elec,. This team is more designed when there 3-6 defenders in the 2300-3000 range usually with a spike (2300, 2400, 2800, 2800, 3000)
Same 3k, 4k+ goal. H

I also have my 1000-1200 team. For when there are multiple low 2ks.

One issue I go back and forth on is "Time" vs "Potions". I don't like time of healing and repicking line up going for say 1k 1k 1k vs 650, 750, 800, 850

Is it faster to beat 4 pokemon for 3k with my 1600 team vs 3 pokemon for 3k with my 1200 team.

Which costs me less potions?

I think someone on silphroad did an analysis that found 1000 prestige is always better than doing an extra fight...for slightly less prestige.

Logically, that makes sense to me since a 1600 mon isn't that much stronger than a 1300 mon or even a 1200 mon and won't be tons faster, assuming you are using things with type advantage, dodging and STAB like a Tangela vs. Rhydon, etc...

It will probably use more potions, but time tends to win out for me since I don't want to get swiped picking 3 vs 4 mons to battle or what not and is faster if I only need to do 2 battles vs. 3. (I have literally seen a guy run out to a gym I was prestiging it and after seeing me, he turned around and left).

Tangela is great since Power Whip (and now Grass Knot) can usually dodge the next quick attack from a Rhydon as well...and he has a 206 defense stat to boot so prior to the update, I rarely prestiged with Tangela, but he's my go to now daily...

Also, with prestigers, you can tend to use a revive (I tend to let them get knocked out due to dodge bug) and use 1 super or 2 regular potions and they are at max health again...due to their much lower HP (around 80-100 or so).

I think this post highlights a great point about prestiging, one which I was a bit too tired to go into fully this morning ... Namely the potion-efficiency aspect. I generally prefer a more potion-friendly strategy, so my team consists of the 12-1500 range -- whereas others prefer more time-efficiency, and their teams will likely be begin in the 1000-1200 range.

It all comes down to your ultimate preference: less time or fewer potions?
