CP and IV in prestigers...?

Hi - let's say I catch two of the same kind of Pokemon and I want to use them as prestigers. One has IVs of 15-15-15. The other has IVs of 10-10-10. Due to the second one being a higher level when caught, however, the CPs are very similar.

Is there a reason to favor one over the other? Thanks!

Not really, CP needs to be half of the defender for the full 1k. Movesett would be the next thing to look at. If you have identical mon with similar CP due to IV and level difference it doesn't matter what you use, the stats will be very similar

Thanks - glad you mentioned moveset - I forgot to say that the other assumption was they were the same on that. This opens up some intriguing possibilities for mons that are highly powered up when I catch them, but don't have great IVs. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something in the damage calculations that would favor one over the other.

IVs create marginal differences in pokemon, but probably not enough that you would be able to obviously tell which is which while battling if they are at similar CP. Especially if it is just a flat distribution like your example. More extreme differences like 15a/0/0, 0/15d/0, and 0/0/15s might be more noticeable depending on the pokemon's base stats.

I just catch 1000-1500 CP mon and use them then never heal them for prestigers. I name them by their move types so I can grab em quick ie I name them (ICE/WTR) or something then I hump and dump. Straight cold blooded send em to the wood chipper and get some candy for the real winners. Aint nobody got time for that.

For prestiging the second one would be better, exactly for the reason you give that its level is higher at the same CP. But the difference is not very great I have read. So no need to worry a great deal about IV's of prestigers.

This is exactly.. Not the case.
If all 3 IVs are equal it doesnt matter if it's 15 or 10.

In fact the only Mons to prefer when it comes to prestiging are those with lower attack stats.
As u said, this is because those mons have higher accumulated Stats on a same amount of CPs than those with high attack values.
I don't get why u Talk about Level.. prestiging is all about CP

So when it comes to IVs it's better to prestige with 0/15/15 as with 15/15/15. (On equal CP)

Aha, now I'm starting to understand the whole attack stat thing - you might have to wait for something more powered up or spend some dust, but with a lower attack IV, you could really beef up your other two stats a lot more before you hit the max CP you want to have.
