I'd guess some sort of lucky egg/XP bonus for Easter. Last event was alright I guess, evolved 2 Gyarados, 1 shiny, both got Bite. ?

Not a huge fan of events that provide a huge benefit for botters and spoofers, can't imagine the number of Magikarp they caught, at least Gyarados is easy to take down.

Unless every mon catch is hidden like the shiney magikarp, then every and anything helps the spoofers.
IVs, moveset, even the mon would need to be RNG for every spawn for every trainer.
But I assume that would overwhelm the servers.

I’d really like another dust event. There’s a couple of guys in my roster I’d like to boost but I’ve frequently pass over for one reason or another.

I have a feeling that the gen 2 starters being added to the eggs will be one unfortunate aspect of the next event. Hopefully it will also be accompanied by something good too.

I would like anouther 1/4 with buddies again or maybe even reduced km for eggs just for the event

This event proved to me that hard work and hours upon hours of effort are no substitute for dumb luck. I caught just over 300 Magicarp. I had 340 or so candy before the event and ended with 1500 or so. No Shiny.

I'm done wasting time and money on these idiotic events where effort means nothing. it's pure 100% RNG. If I wanted an RNG game I'd play Yahtzee or flip a coin a few hundred times. But walking 40km a day for 5 days in a row with nothing to show for it but magikarp candy that I didn't need is an insult.

And yeah, I did find two Lapras...but Lapras is a pretty junk pokemon all things considered, and I'm nearly level 36. I don't want more Lapras, I want something that a high level trainer can actually find fun, and that's a rarer (albeit otherwise useless) Dos.

So yeah, I'm bitter over the event. The event taught me never again to spend so much time on a pure RNG dvent. If it was an egg that needed to be walked 50K in those 7 days then that makes sense. Walk it or lose it. But having to catch hundreds of crap mons and roll a dice every time? That's BS.

And before you pipe up, I'd feel the same way if I got a shiny. I absolutely hate games where skill and/or effort is totally absent and all that matters is luck. That's what the water event was. I hope they don't do this kind of crap too often. I'm guessing a lot of players learned their lesson on the water event. -Play when convenient, but don't make any extra effort.

I think you took the wrong approach to the whole thing. This event was like one big nest of mons I don’t see often. I really liked it, an assortment of things I don’t come across in every direction.

Heh, I suppose in life and Pokemon Go, a person's expectations are all that matters in how they view things...

I liked the water event a lot, since I live in a desert biome. Everything was new and in all my time playing, Magikarp spawns at a 0 rate here...I went from 200+ candies (all from beach/ocean trips) to 700+ during this event. I pinaped a ton of karps to get more candy.

I didn't get a shiny or even a Magikarp I want to evolve, but am ok with that and can wait.

As I've mentioned before, I think if you want to play a skill based game, Pokemon Go isn't it and as a mobile game, I think you're expecting too much from it. Better to approach it from a different view or you will continue to be disappointed I think. In this type of game, the RNG is what keeps people playing (get ideal movesets, new moves, etc). Their whole business model depends on this so similar to the move change, it's good to just roll with them and don't go in thinking you can ever be "done" with it.

Also, sorta like how any gym can be torn down, even if you are level 40 with say 9 other level 40 players, a level 25 can destroy your gym and there's nothing you can do about it.

I guess I am a more casual player (play when I am out doing errands mostly, walking dog, etc), but still probably log 1-2 hours a day I'd guess since the app is always on.

I think this whole game is supposed to be for the more casual folks since grinding just gets you more levels, but doesn't make most of these high level people better players I don't think.

It's funny since I see these level 36+ people prestiging gyms like 100-200 prestige a time and taking so long...so long I could've swiped their spot, so long that you almost want to prestige for them so they will leave and you can do the next 8k faster than they can do 2k.

Well, I'm not expecting PokeGo to be a skill game. That's crazy. What I do expect from the game, and what it has been about, is effort spent generally equals rewards gained. Want level 35? Grind. Put the effort in. Get out, catch it all, and grind it up. Skill never factors into it. Nor does it or has it factored into any single aspect of this game. However, effort is usually rewarded. My point with this event is the effort wasn't rewarded with the carrot they dangled in front of everyone.

Your view is to set your expectations so low that you can't be let down. That supreme effort should never yield a reward - which is contradictory to the rest of PokeGo.

I am an avid board gamer. If I want skill I'll play Twilight Struggle, Chess, Vinhos, Scythe, Fields of Arle, and games of that sort. They require zero physical effort and are almost entirely about skill. Insofar as the better player will almost always win.

One of my main draws to PokeGo was that the only way to get ahead in levels is by sheer work. No skill, just effort. The Marathon badge is my favorite badge. It requires zero skill, but says you went 1000km.

I wouldn't say the game is for casual players anymore. The casual players quit playing the game months ago. And frankly, anyone who made it to level 30 isn't a casual player in my mind. And if they made it to level 33-34+ then they're hardcore even if all they do is grind. Unless you're a cheater you have to put a LOT of effort in to start climbing levels after level 30.

But having almost no expectations beyond "open app and see what happens" is a nice way to play. Lazy, won't level up much after 30, but keeps it light and fun.

Judging by some posts on here I's say people take the game far, far too seriously. I've read about physical threats because people were fighting over gyms. That's too far IMO. But that'd the extreme end.

The X factor in all of this is the inflated stats that occur when you add in the cheaters. They may not make up a large percentage of players, but they make up a large percentage of players who are disrupting the game for the most serious players by screwing with the gyms.

I think Easter will be all about eggs in some way or another. Cheaper lucky eggs or longer duration, shorter walking distance for hatching eggs, new pkmn added to eggs (like gen 2 starter), hmm probably there are some more things they could do with this concept.

Easter...a season of fertility.
Breeding.

Just putting it out there.

Makes more sense as a season of rebirth (rising from the dead) and hoping for possibly new option to reroll moves using candy ("Save your candies!") for old/"dead" useless pokemon (eg: Bullet Punch/Heavy Slam Machamp)...

(not mine, I got C/CC).

The water event was simply magnificent. It was a very nice pleasant surprise for everyone eagerly awaiting a Easter event. I finally got enough Lapras candy to bring it to level 30 & may possibly walk w/ her for some time. I had no luck w/ shinies and I really want that Red Gary, but I got 2 Dragonites day 1 as a consolation prize. All in all thumbs up from me. Only sad note is :/ no C/IB Slowbro from event... damn RNG

I'm hoping for lucky egg specials, maybe store discount or even one free lucky egg and/or incubator with the first pokestop spin. I'm getting close to level 32 and need lucky eggs (and always need incubators).

Double or (triple, quadruple....) XP or candy and/or reduced buddy distance would also be nice. Or extra star dust!

But I like any and all events, and even the fact that Niantic keeps us in the dark about it. Surprise! (No St. Patricks Day but an unexpected water event).

RNG has been very good to me - 3 Shinykarp, one now a 2535 Shinydos sitting in a gym - and 3 dratini from eggs (which may not even be related to the event) so I am close to evolving my second dragonite (first was wild caught).

So I can't complain, although still no lapras (or larvitar).

P.S. I just hope that Niantic's surprise is not no event - at all!
