heracross or scizor with double bug moves?

I was arguing today with a friend about which should be better, a heracross with struggle bug/megahorn or a scizor with fury cutter/x-scissor. I prefer the scizor, but I would like to hear your opinions.

Scizor definitely for fighting Psychic types, Steel is resistant to Psychic while Fighting is weak to it.

And Scizor is double-resistant to Grass, the other main use of Bug types.

Heracross – against dark Pokémon
Scizor – against psychic Pokémon

Tbh the only pokemon that is Dark and dangerous is Tyranitar and usually other choices are better. Every other dark is kind of weak and non-meta.

If Heracross had Fighting moves not Bug moves then he would be great against Tyranitar but with Bug moves he is no better than a Vaporeon for it.

Even if you consider all Dark pokemons available, the Bug version of Heracross is still a bad option.

  1. Umbreon is also weak to Fight, since C/CC is better than SB/MG, it makes no sense to go for the bug moveset.
  2. Murkrow isn't weak to Bug.
  3. Sneasel has double weakness do Fight, so the point I made for Umbreon is even stronger here.
  4. Houndoom isn't weak to Bug and is weak to Fight.
  5. Tyranitar has double weakness to Fight. Same point as Sneasel.

So, even considering ALL the Dark mons available, Bug Heracross is just not that good against them and would be outperformed by a Fight Heracross.

The only bugs worth acquiring are Pinsir and Scizor. Their movesets are also better than Heracross'.

When it comes to BUG attacks Scizor is better, not that Heracross is bad, far from that, but Scizor really shines on bug and heracross shines on fighting.
