Attacking alakazam
confusion or psycho cut? which quick move is better?
Answers
If you don't dodge, Confusion
If you dodge, psycho cut.
In any case I'd recommend not using alakazam for attacking. I have a legacy psycho cut/psychic one and it plain sucks (not sure if futuresight changes that a lot). If you have a dragonite, HP gyarados, or something with a good enough attack stat it's going to last way longer into the next battle. Exeggutor in particular, is equally, if not more devastating than alakazam with confusion/solar beam if you have that.
For attacking you need psycho cut because he has low hp so you have to dodge so you can get the most out of him.
I can dodge quite easily with Confusion. Unlike with Psycho Cut, I only get one (very powerful) quick attack between dodges, and it takes patience (you usually have to briefly wait for the dodge-alert flash after a Confusion attack). So I can work equally well with either quick attack depending on my temperament at the time I am playing.
I use a Confusion/SoB Eggs and you're actually less likely to miss a dodge with Confusion than Psycho Cut due to trying to just tap once.
FunKySho's vid shows against Snorlax and dodging all moves, a Confusion/Futuresight seems better even though it's slow. Even with Confusion/Psychic, it gives Psycho Cut/Future Sight a run for it's money and is close.

It feels clunky, true, but Confusion just does so much more damage compared to Psycho Cut.
For Espeon, ZH and Confusion are closer in damage so ZH maybe preferred assuming you can hit 2 times vs 1 Confusion.
