Spending dust on attackers

Everyone uses there dust on defensive Pokémon which is cool right now but what happens when PvP comes out ? Aren't you going to wish you built an attacking squad instead of a defensive one. PvP will come out .. when is the question

Not everyone. I primarily use my dust on attackers. When I get a duplicate mon with a higher IV than one of my current attackers, then I power up the new one and convert the older one to a defender.

I have never spent any dust on any defensive pokemons besides blissey. And I really doubt if there is any difference of putting a high cp (iv) offensive ms Pokémon in the gym vs the defensive ones.

I only power my mons to around level 30. This allows me to have a good mix of defenders and attackers at a good level.

Got at least one good attacker for every type and also a bunch of high CP defenders. Currently holding 16 stable gyms with only level 30 defenders. It's more important to know where, when and how to place a defender than to have a maxed defender and putting him anywhere in a sloppy way, like in a heavily contested area.

We will get PvP in this year if we are lucky. In the mean time I will power up my defenders to get the surefire 5000 dust and 100 coins a day, thank you very much.

I personally have no interest in PVP other than as an oddity or to punish my daughter if she misbehaves.......

I'm not worried because I have over 1 million dust. If/when the game changes I'll power up the relevant pokemon at that point. :-)

Before the release of gen 2, i only powered up defenders. Now i spend dust on attackers too because of those Blisseys :))
Currently powering up my Eeveelutions, still do not have a Jolteon with Thunder Shock/Thunderbolt to complete the A-rank Eeveelution-attackers list :))

I have my DT/H Dragonite at CP 3264 at Level 34.4. My best atttacker is my best defender by default of it's CP.

I am of the opinion that CP is the ONLY thing that matters for a defender. There is no magic defender whose moveset or stats make him so good that it justifies the massive expenditure of dust, candy, and time. Every defender gets taken down by just about anyone.

On a side note, PVP might actually be incentivized when it happens. You might not care about it now, but there may be reasons to care about it.

By nature, the gym system is kind of lame. I don't see it being improved. The entire way a gym works is the same reason it's such a poor endeavor. It's almost as if gyms are designed specifically for spoofers.

Gym defneders - You can either place someone with high CP in a high spot, or place someone with sub-par CP in a lower spot that only benefits those above it.

I spend dust on both. But I'm selective in the process. As for PvP, I got maxed out high IV Dnites with attack move sets that I currently use to take down any gyms I desire including ones full of Blissey's. They will also be useful for PvP.

Yikes, not only do I spend dust on my attack team, but also on all my multiple prestige teams! I have a team ready at 1300, 1500, 1600 (about 8-10 pokes for each level). I try to keep 10 gyms, so that's 10 defenders, but also many offensive pokemons, so I can take back a gym quickly if I have too. And yep, because of Blissey, I had to spend dust on other attackers.

I only power snorlax and blissey as defenders because I am minority team in a region so know i can only hold 3 gyms for long anyway and contend 2 which i throw raw (straight evolved no powerups) mons into knowing it doesn't matter what i would put in there anyway.
I need attackers that can turn over the contested gyms without sucking up to many potions.
