Tyranitar Question

I have an 87 IV T-Rex with Iron Tail / Fire Blast. It has 1750 CP and I am level 30. Is this a good moveset to power up? I would probably use him as a defender because this is not a great attacking moveset. I have enough candy and dust to max him out. My next best option is to evolve an 82 IV Larvitar but after evolve I would not be able to max him out. Is the fact that his CP would be so high enough to outweight this bad moveset?

What level is your 87% IV Tyrantiar currently at?

3618 max CP is pretty high, but it requires 260 candies and 238800 stardust. If I were you, I would save stardust on other defenders/attackers. Not really worth it.

"Is this a good moveset to power up?"
"this is not a great attacking moveset"

why you need to ask?
if you alrdy failed getting move set you wanted then you need to gather more candies for another evolve
or
you can power it up and throw it in any gym that alrdy has high cp snorlaxes and blisseys as defenders.
defending move set doesnt matter that much for this pokemon

being the worst possible moveset it is not worth the investment

Definitely power it up! Unless you happen to live somewhere where you stumble on level 25-30 Tyranitars now and then (never happens in my area). He'll be in the top spots in most gyms, being protected by Blisseys and Snorlaxes, gathering 10 coins every day. Don´t waste it on the next Larvitar. Moveset isn't important for this guy (if you want him as a defender).

I have a level 28, 87% Larvitar and 96 candies. I know what I'm going to do with him, no matter any moveset.
