Moveset vs Lineup: which is more annoying?

By annoying, I mean force an attacker to use more potions/revives. So I wonder from those who attack a lot of gyms, is the lineup perhaps more of a deterrent to fight? After all, can't know the MS until the battle has already started... but a gym with 3 Vapes/3 Gary / 3 Rhydon then D'nite is probably far more attractive target to attack then one with an optimum order with Rhydon between Garys etc.

I find a line up in a gym that has the following in them and more than one slightly annoying to battle against: Vaporeon (WG/AQ), Blissey (ZH/DG), and Snorlax with (ZH/BS).

Dragonite to me isn't a deterrent even with DT/OT nor a bunch of high CP Rhydon's. I encounter them all of the time in gyms. They aren't even difficult to prestige against with something half their CP.

The above three tend to me more tanky and spam their charge moves more often. Your dodging game with them has to be on point.

The biggest deterrent is multiple Blissey. Movesets are annoying the first time around because that is when you get caught off gaurd. I feel really good when I find out the movesets arent optimal. The most annoying thing as a whole is the order of the pokemon because switching out pokemon causes you to take unneeded damage and you lose energy built up.

A good combo gym with bad moves, is no more or less annoying than a bad combo with good moves. They both provide their own unique challenges, but can be taken with comparable resource requirements.

The real winner is ideal movesets, with a well placed gym lineup, then it becomes most annoying.
Throw in a Blissey or 2 somewhere between 5th and 7th and you will be there a while.
It will fall, but it will cost you to do it.

i am seasoned gym battler, and you wanna know what annoys u the most while battling? its the gym bug where u successfully dodge attack but your game didnt register it, thus come the switching pokemon bug. and that time you waste your energy build up or, worst.. u cannot dodge, unless u switch out properly. this bug combine with low energy cost charge move like body slam, outrage, dazzling gleam will make your life pain as these attacks can be launch two or three times consecutively

What annoys me is when I take over a gym, install a defender and then my team packs it with 5 Vapes and 4 Gyarados because they have the highest CP in their stock. This is a bad idea because it's a very easy gym to smoke. An attackers box filled with Jolteons cuts straight through it, no problem.

A good gym forces attackers to switch around and guess even if it isn't filled with the highest CP mons money can buy. If attacker A works well against defender A but not defender B and likewise attacker B not good against defender C and so on, the integrity of the gym is greater.

If defender A is a Vaporeon many people will send something like a Venosaur at it. If defender B is a Charizard then the Venosaur better get switched out after the Vape goes down for a water attacker quick. Then, if defender C is a Jolteon it will put a hurt on the water attacker so attacker C would be wise to become ground type. Then, if defender D is an Eggy (confusion/solar beam is nasty,) attacker D should be switched again. And so on.

The above is just an example but my two Cloysters will easily chop down 4 Dragonites in a row but probably have a very tough time against the above gym assuming CPs are equal.

I'm level 35 but rarely install anything over 2700CP. I'm never going to put my 2761CP Vaporeon in a gym that already has 5 in it. There are plenty of people showing off their high CP wieners. I'm happy to place 22-2600CP tier 2-2.5 mons in the middle to make a stronger gym. I know I'm in the minority but playing this way is more fun and satisfying for me. And, I believe these gyms last longer meaning more dust/coins for the whole team. Obviously, if someone wants to take over the gym then they are going to, but it's going to cost them more time, potions.
