Dragonite Advice Needed

OK, OK, this question isn't unique, but what would you all do? Let me set the scene:

I've got a L10 44%IV Dragonite with legacy DB/DC, a L20 91% Dratini, and 125 candies.

I enjoy the dodge-all strategy, and would love to have an attacking Claw 'nite, but since you can't get them anymore, this subpar example is my last hope for that experience.

However, I know the numbers are terrible and it will take a ton of stardust. Conversely, I've got some good Dratinis to work with, but I'm afraid of getting a Steel Wing Dragonite I won't want to fight with (especially one with HB).

Would you go with the known quantity or roll the dice? I've got two other 3K+ Dragonites, so candy isn't exactly rare, but it does take time, and I don't want to waste it.

44 iv for an attacking dragonite are not terrible.
I bet you'd hardly notice a difference during a gym battle.
Yes there will be a cp difference. But you stated you want it for attacking.

power up that DB/DC and have some fun with it.

I've already done the same with even less IVs

If you want one more opinion, I agree with pp. My 38% DB/DC dragonite is amazing! No other chance to get those moves (although with Niantic, who knows? Maybe they'll bring legacy moves back). Lv 10 isn't too bad, either, won't take forever.

If this is your only DB/DC and you enjoy that moveset power it up. Since candies aren't an issue you'll eventually do both a power up and evo.

See this thread: https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/q-a/dragonite-conundrum

My 2 cents is to go ahead and evolve the DB/DC Dragonite, because 1. That's an amazing legacy moveset, 2. You already have other Dragonites that you can presumably use for defense if needed, and 3. Don't forget you'd still need more candy to raise your lvl. 20 mon to lvl. 30 even after evolving it.

Fully evolving your Lv20 cutie costs you 123 candies, and 189 if you power it to Lv30. It also has a chance of 2/3 to get a non-ideal move set.
Power your Lv10 magic dragon up to Lv30 costs you 104 candies and it's a sure bet to have an elite attacker.

I have a DB/DC 40 IV Dragonite. (15/3/0)

Powered it all the way from 747 to 2892 CP. No ragrets. I don't know how much time it saved me from slaying gyms.

Nice. Now back to grinding more candy to evolve that other Dratini you have... I am tempted to power up my 35IV DB/DC Legacy Dragonite now...

I've been holding on to it for a long time, hoping to get a better version with DC. But now that it's legacy, I decided to pull the trigger. I don't plan to defend with it, so CP isn't all that important. It's still a high-level Dragonite with DC, which is what I've wanted all along for attacking.

I'll push it to just over 3K CP (for psychological satisfaction) and then start grinding for the next evolution!
