Better move Clefable

Why Dazzling Gleam is better than Moonblast? O_o

I have one (Zen Headbutt/DG) 97%, worth powerup?

DG does 2 charges of 100 damage, while MB does 130 damage.

Why would you power up a Clefable? It's not a good defender, and I can't really think of any case where you'd choose it instead of a different attacker.

If it has a good moveset with a Faery charge moves it's actually a decent attacker against Dragonite if you don't have a Lapras or a dragonite of your own.

Hrm I guess... I mean, my first instinct would be to use an ice-type mon against Dragonite (either Cloyster or Piloswine, assuming you don't have a Lapras). I suppose Clefairy's dragon resistance is a nice thing to have though.

Either way, I'm not sure it's worth it to invest valuable stardust in what would end up being a niche attacker. I mean, why power up Clefairy when you can catch another high level Dragonite counter in the wild?

Again... if we assume he has no access to something better, then yes, depending on how much stardust we are talking about.

And, checking on pokebattler, P/DG Clefable performs better than FB/B Cloyster and dewong, but not better than PS/A Piloswine or FB/B Lapras.

Fun fact, Clefable actually is one of the best pokemon to have in the main game series because Faery is not only resistant to dragon... they are inmune (They are also good against dark and figthing btw), in PoGo we have to settle for a "25%" bonus...and we don't even have a Faery type Quick attack. >_<

Yes well, neither of us know what's common or rare for the OP, nor what mons they already have, and all of that will obviously affect their final decision. ;-P

I've never played a pokemon game before, but I've been watching some Let's Plays recently and I'm shocked at how very different the gameplay is compared to PoGo!

Clefable is great against Dragonite!

Good HP too. (215 lvl 30)

Clefable is great against Dragonite, but Lapras, Cloyster, and others are even better. Clefable has good HP, but Snorlax, Blissey, Vaporeon, and others all have more. The problem isn't that Clefable is bad, the problem is that whatever a Clefable can do, another pokemon can do better. ;-)

Outside of a lame Jynx, I don't have true ice pokemon either, but have some with ice attacks (Tentacruel, Slowbro, Blastoise). I find that Clefable and to a lesser extent Wigglytuff do a pretty good job against Nites. And there are tons of Nites in the gyms around here (although not many wild dratini).

I know it doesn't get a SE attack bonus, but I've been very surprised at how well Jolteons handle Dnites too - the combo of a high attack stat, STAB moves, + resistance to steel and flying all help. (That said, my own Dragonite and Lapras are still my first two choices for taking out enemy Dnites)
