So I was able to evolve into Espeon once using the name trick. Which was dumb of me because it wasn't a very good mon with good stats. I've evolved prolly 30 Evees since then using the name trick or not using the name trick still no Espeon I even named one ever Sakura and walked 10k nothing. Any advise?

I just got one and made it my buddy, walked 10km, make sure I got 2 candies and you also HAVE TO BE in GPS range so the servers know what time/day it is currently.

Worked on my 1st and only try to Espeon. Got ZH/P (bleh)....

Evolve the Eevee that you walked with for 10Km while it's still your buddy during daytime. You'll 100% get Espeon.

It's like Ninantic has it out for me.. I don't get it I don't hack or anything. So frustrating lol I just keep trying and trying and noting and I deleted the the first and only Espeon because of its stats and I though maybe that's why I didn't get another Espeon

You need to evolve them when the eevee has collected 2 candy (at least 10km) and while it still is your buddy.

Then if you evolve him at day time you'll get an Espeon, at nighttime you'll get Umbreon.

The conditions

  1. Buddy and walk the Eevee for 10 km
  2. Keep the Eevee as your buddy
  3. Evolve from the buddy screen
  4. Evolve while having good GPS signal
  5. Evolve during night time for Umbreon and day time for Espeon

If you fulfill all 5 conditions, you should get the desired result every single time. I have evolved 4 Umbreon without fail.

Hmm I fulfilled all the requirements..but the evolve from buddy screen might be it. Do you mean I have to have this screen up and click on the candy to jump to the Pokémon screen and then evolve it?

This was probably why, assuming your GPS signal was good at that time...

Better safe than sorry I'd say and just do everything needed since it worked fine for me (and many others...).

If it required me hitting my head and rubbing my tummy at the same time, I'd do that too.

I'm saving my "name" for a higher IV one myself, but wanted another counter to the slew of Blisseys/Snorlax out there.

Yeah, click that damn candy and evolve the mon. I did that every time.

And you can also unbuddy it to wait for day or night and then buddy back, this 10km trick is 100% work, i don't understand why it wouldn't work with you
