Blissey with best moveset but terrible IV

I just caught a 2300 CP blissey in the wild and it got ZH+DG which I believe is its best defensive moveset, just when I had my hopes high, I appraised her and Blanche says it is not likely to make much headway in battle. She is actually my first ever blissey, although I have 66 chansey candies, I don't have a chansey with both good IV and good CP. My best chansey is 237 in CP and 89% in IV but if I evolve her I would be left with 16 candies which won't be enough to power her up much. Should I just power her up to defend a gym? Luckily my region is dominated by team mystic (same as me). Should I collect more candies and wait for a better CP chansey? Or should I evolve my 237 CP chansey and see what moveset she gets? I think the third option is the worst. Edit: chansey is super rare in my region, the last time I encountered one was during the valentine event. Let me know what you guys think and thanks in advance for those who bother to reply.

In my opinion, you should put Blissey in gyms, wait for better Chansey, and walk with your current one to get more candies.
2300cp Blisseys can discourage low lv trainers to take down your gyms :D
And you might not know, Blissey with any movesets is better than Snorlax with ZH/BS

A 2300 CP Blissey is more likely to discourage your teammate from prestiging if anything. Do you have any higher level Chanseys w/ ok IVs?

No, the only "wonder" IV chansey I got has 237 CP. I know it would discourage other mystics to prestige the gym if I put my blissey so I'm gonna look for a high lvl gym e.g. at least lvl 7 and she will serve at the bottom of the gym.

I'm lvl 32 and from my personal experience, beating down 2500-2600 blisseys is easy and mine is 2300, but I guess you're right, since my region is dominated by team mystic, my own team, I should hope to discourage attackers by putting my blissey at the bottom of a high lvl gym.

A 2300 CP Blissey might a high level Blissey w/ low CP due to bad IVs. Do you know what level it is? Also that Blissey is going to be sent home quite a lot and it's going to be expensive constantly reviving her. I'd say hold out and wait for a Chansey hatch..

Do you think 2800 or 2600 CP snorlax is a better defender than a 2300 blissey? Actually my 2800 CP snorlax is still sitting at a gym. My only above-3000 CP mons are 2 dragonites which I use for attacking gyms. I have some 2800 CP vapes too but snorlax with the same CP is obviously better.

A 2600 CP Snorlax is a relatively low level one 2800 should be at or near level 30. This depends on the movesets, but yes I do think it's a better gym defender. Blissey's HP is way larger, but Snorlax has a decent amount of HP around level 30 (240ish) hits way harder and has better gym placement.

Ok it's HP should be pretty solid. If you're the 10th defender awesome. Otherwise please don't stick it in the gym and piss off teammates lol!

I think you should go with your Blissey. It is likely getting more candies is going to continue to be difficult for you. IVs don't make much of a difference for Blissey, because her base stats are so high. (Although her attack IV will have the most impact on her CP and effectiveness in battle.) Your 66 candies will get her to a high enough level get an ok placement in gyms.

Yeah thats why I asked does he have a higher level but lower IV Chansey. You risk obtaining worse moves, but it's hard to justify powering up a bad IV Pokemon unless it has legacy movesets.

I just checked its exact IVs and at lvl 33 she would have 2671 CP (she is at lvl 28 now). I don't think she worth my rare chansey candies so I would leave her at 2374 CP and look for already-high-lvl gym to place her.

That sounds great as the 10th entry into any gym. No need to power this one up, just use it as a deterrence as-is.
