Favorite defender out of tier1/1,5?

What is you favorite one (still decent defender)?

I like Muk with darkpulse and Golduck with confusion/ice beam

I love Muk as well - underrated IMHO. It's also fun to take down a high-level gym and leave him at the top. It has to be irritating to opposing teams to see their level 10 gym replaced with a big pile of amorphous, poisonous goop that also seems to be giving them the middle finger. :)

My favourite is Clefable. 95% of Clefables in my City are just random wild catches with bad moveset and terrible, under 50% IVs, however with around 1500 CP. Everybody can defeat this easily, but then they run into my 2k CP, 14/14/15, Zen Headbutt/Dazling Gleam Clefable and are very badly surprised what can this pokémon do.

I which i had the exact same one. Cant find good moveset every time I evolve. Maybe next time

Tentacruels. Good resistances, never know which moveset it could have.

I use Victreebel and Vileplume frequently, since there is often a Grass-type missing when I put a Pokemon into a gym.

I powered one of eachwith 93 and 96% IV and A defensive moveset. But even with more than 2200CP i feel like their are too weak because arcanine which is quite common destroys them and even a 1600 pidgeot kills them

I usually hope that Arcanine is eliminated by one of the (at least four) Vaporeons which also sit in the gym or that they prevent the opponent to even include a fire type in his or her team ;) (Indeed, in my region gyms use to be full of water types.)

Like Poliwrath with submission, it annoys a lot, hate fighting it

I've got an ice Poli and submission Poli, they are both fantastic, NOBODY uses them around me. No idea why.

Im looking for them, i have 3 with Bubble/hydopump. But i prefer submission or ice punch but cant get them so far

I feel like Hypno is underrated because he's so darn common.

The big reason why Snorlax/Lapras/Wigglytuff are tier 1/1.5 defenders is because it's so hard to get a good pokemon with a type advantage on them. Same goes for Hypno, except he's got the added bonus of hard to resist STAB moves as well. Like Snorlax doesn't have STAB quick moves, Lapras' moves are easily resisted, and Wigglytuff is one or the other.

Hypno has a lot worse stats, but fewer bad matchups. Basically Slowbro with water attacks is your only real choice unless you want to kamikaze it with a Gengar or a Shadow Ball Hypno (then next thing you know the defending Hypno has Shadow ball and it's a mess). I suppose you can just take him down with Lapras/Snorlax/Dragonite/Vaporeon/Arcanine as well, but assuming you don't have them / they're in gyms (e.g. me a couple months ago) it can be a tough matchup.

I agree, Hypnos are definitely underrated. I often find myself attacking a gym with 1,5k Hypno, 1,8k Slowbro and 2k Vaporeon. To many people's surprise, it's almost always the Hypno that does the most damage and also by a big margin. They hit really hard with their STAB psychic moves!

Love my exeggcutor for that. Zen headbutt and psychic, it can destroy anything

I've seen dig marowak mentioned more than once. Is it really that good?

It hits surprisingly hard, like harder than a blastoise with flash cannon. but since it's ground type it's weak against water, grass, and ice. That's basically everything everyone attacks gyms with anyway, and combine that with its low health and it just dies really fast.
