When are we going to give up on the whole "save your candies" thing?

I doubt it will be a double-XP event. I mean, do you spend your Dratini candies for Dratini mass evolution? No! For getting Dnites and powering up.
So that dude could be indicating:
1) We are going to make a rebalance soon;
2) We are going to give candy-discount for power up or evolution;
3) I just say this randomly so I make my gesture cooler

I have a mass evolution ready , but again you do it and then an XP event or candy discount later happened , I would be haunted by it forever , so I feel waiting till the next event is the safer way

I just did a small evolve session...35k i did my 7 day catch and spin and evoled a few rats and pidgeys....itll hold me over until next week lol

My guess is that a gym rebalance is comming soon and with that some movesets changes again.

I would also love a half evolution or power up "cost" but I doubt the half evolution cost will happen now because it will make people complete gen2 dex faster.

Anyway we should get a game update this week, it has been a while since last one, and with that I hope we can know if there is an event coming soon.

I've already fudged it and did evolutions, so far no RAGRETS.

Easter is the next holiday that could have an event. Maybe giving away some Lucky Eggs?

Possible. Easter = eggs. Maybe we get a lucky egg if we get a seven day streak during easter, or maybe we get mini lucky eggs from the first spin each day, like we did with incubators during christmas.

In a previous thread, someone mentioned breeding, now that genders are established, with a certain amount of candy needed to generate an egg. I think it's too much to hope for, but would be really cool (unless you had to burn your incubators and km walked on hatching your own mon's eggs). But that would be a way for Niantic to coax real money out of people for extra incubators and guaranteed Blissey or Snorlax hatches.

I was thinking St. Patrick's Day could be an event. Double XP or something lucky egg related could make sense for this holiday (the whole "Luck of the Irish" thing). We're only a few days away at this point, so I guess we'll find out.

That would surprise me, as many countries haven't even heard about that holiday. But who knows, they did thanksgiving.

Niantic seems to care only for US american holidays, no Gyarados for chinese new year or anything. St. Patrick's Day isn't known / celebrated anywhere outside the US, Thanksgiving is known in the christian world but it's only a minor church holiday.

As a noob in desperate need of levelling up from my pathetic level 25, this stuff is killing me. I'm holdning off on mass evolutions right now, but if nothing happens on St.Patricks day then I'll probably go ahead and evolve away.
