Difference in Stardust Given on First Catch of the Day

Aside from the 7 Day Steak, I just recently noticed that there are differences in the Stardust given on every First Catch of the Day depending if we catch a basic, stage 1 or stage 2 Pokémon. I've first noticed this when I received 900 Stardust instead of the usual 700. Then I found this picture online where someone caught a Tyranitar for their First Catch of the Day and got 1100 Stardust. Is this information already publicly announced?

Thanks...I had not heard this one before.

You get more stardust for catching higher evolutions. For an evolution one above the basic, it gives 300 stardust. For a third evolution, it gives more. It does this for every catch. This is why there was a difference in dust awarded.

Wow I must catch evolved forms of Pokemon now. I've generally avoided Pidgeots, Pidgettos, Kakunas, and etc, but wow.

They added this feature when the second generation came out. It certainly makes catching evolved pokemon much better than before.

Edit: Catching evolved pokemon also gives more candy than catching the base form.

And the candies also double with Pinaps.
Got 20 candies on my last Dragonite that I got with a Pinap Berry.

I even use pinaps on pidgeot now...that stardust drop with 20 candies, is just too much xp and dust to pass up now.

As stated above, it isn't related to the first catch of the day.

Not evolved pokémons gives 100 dusts.
Evolution 1 gives 300 dusts.
And evolution 2 gives 500 dusts.

Fist catch gives 600 dusts.

Tyranitar is a second evolution, so 600 + 500 = 1100.
