Any pokemon go plus user?

My pokemon go plus finally arrived and decided to give it a try today. Since i don't normally stock up on red balls but use blue balls (got 600+), i noticed that pokemons either go away or the go plus will not throw balls. only throw the regualr red balls. another thing i noticed is that if the pokemon will pop out, i go plus will not allow me to throw a second ball to the pokemon.

so is it just me who notice this or this is really the feature of the go plus. any comments guys?

That's how it works. I normally use it to spin PokéStops only or catch Krabbys/Venonats/etc. with it in case I'm too lazy or don't have the time to throw a curve ball at them.

Yep, the Go+ can only use pokeballs unfortunately.

However, it also has its perks

  • Get kms on eggs while your phone is off
  • Grind up stardust by letting it catch garbage such as Venonat and Spinarak
  • Notify you of a pokemon you've never caught before
  • Catch pokemon and spin stops while your phone is off (can be useful if your phone is low on charge)

can you clarify "..while your phone is off"? did you mean battery saver feature is on on your phone? thanks.

App has to be running. It can be in the background, and OP is referring to the screen being off/locked.

I usually have the pokestop feature off unless im walking. Also you get 25XP for the failed catches. I love mine and use it everyday.

It's essentially a candy, stardust, and exp farm. Hope you have 1000 bag spots. Stock up on those pokeballs and throw those great balls at literally everything you catch manually (unless you're using ultras). Enjoy leveling up 10x as fast :D

Yeah, the Go+ is definitely not intended to replace actual gameplay. It's great for times when you can't operate the app (ie, when driving), and helps to save battery by gaining distance with your phone screen off. I also like it if I'm in a dense spawn area and find myself surrounded by Pidgey's, Rattatas etc. I'd rather just just have a one-shot at the press of a button than have to go in and catch them all manually. Just keep a few (hundred) poke balls free and you're good to go!

It's also nice for the fact that it's extremely item efficient. Instead of wasting 3, 4, 5+ pokeballs on a stubborn pidgey or wheedle, you throw one ball and either get 150XP, 100 candy and the catch, or you get your 25 xp and move on. Great for grinding.
