Arcanine: Bite vs Fire Fang

Anyone prefer Bite more than fire fang for attacking?

Almost same dps but generates much more energy Dmg resisted most likely by nobody in the gym. Still 1,25x dmg vs Exeggutor

Fire Fang
- Generates less energy
- Resisted by dragons
- Resisted by other arcanines

Am i crazy?

same, i love my arcanine with bite/fire blast against exeggutors but fire fang still does way more dps cuz of STAB. However, if its against other grass types, I prefer fire fang instead.

The difference isn't great. To be honest I'm underwhelmed by Arcanine as a Pokemon they're wiped out but water Pokes so easily.

Arcanine's weakness to Waters doesn't bother me as I only use mine for offense. In general, I see nothing wrong using some Pokemon exclusively for offense and others primarily for defense.

Fire fang is the same type as Fireblast and Flamethrower, which is probably better for attacking. That said, Bite on my Gyarados works quite nicely.

I like bite. Can't go wrong with either one.

I like Bite a lot for the quick move on Arcanine when battling/training a gym. With the gym AI and a slower quick move from the defender, Bite can land 5-6 times with time still to dodge. This means that Bite can generate 2-3 Fireblasts between the AI's charge move. Example: 1666 Arcanine vs. 2174 Lapras with Frost Breath and Blizzard, my puppy can regularly beat Nessie with 1/2 HP remaining.

You're totally correct, BUT only if the charge move is fire blast, since bite generates more energy and this is crucial to fill a whole bar, especially against exeggutors. Against all other, it will do more or less the same damage if you consider thar bite generates more energy but fire fang is indeed a stronger move.
