Let's talk hacking

I was wondering how possible it was to already have 3000cp+ Tyranitar? I was reflecting on the matter and asked my self how it was possible for some gyms in my city to be filled up with so many 3000Cp Pokemon?

I play regularly and I'm level 26 and I barely have 23 Dratini candy. I have only encountered one larvitar. My question is, is there that many people hacking in this game? I mean, it's really discouraging.

According to a survey, 20%of all players are spoofers. And if they spoof i would imagine the goal is to earn coins via gyms, so they are probably more representations of spoofers in there.
Add to that the even more common cheating of map-tracking. Havent seen a number on this, but since the tool is essential to spoofers, add trackers and my estimate is that 50% of the players are cheating and showing of their Tyranitars!

Edit:
Ive catched one larvitar, one pupitar and hatched 3 larvitars. Im just over 125candy, i play A LOT! I walked 185km with one larvitar!
To push a Tyranitar (from hatched level 20)up to 3000cp would require 62 candy more!
Im highly, higly sceptical to there being many legit Tyranitars over 3000

I've hatched one Larvitar and seen 0 in the wild.
Maybe the people with Tyranitars are running the max number if incubators and hatching tons of them...

It's possible if you have the cash, the luck and the legs to walk.
I've bought 8 incubators and hatched 4 Larvitars in three days with them.
This already put me fairly close to my first Tyranitar.
If you duplicate it, you teorically can have a 3000CP Tyranitar in less than a week.

Hatched 6 larvitars already .. its quite possible if you keep getting lucky with egg hatches.. 10k eggs drop way more then before also

I would say its definitely possible...just not likely for most players.

Im legit, and I currently have 83 Larvitar Candy.

I have NEVER seen one in the wild.

I have hatched two of them and buddy walked the rest.
Currently 195km walked with it.

I think i have done fairly well considering i have never caught one.

If I lived in an area where it felt like i even had a chance to encounter one, I could easily have at-least 100 Candy by now, especially if they were low lvl and I used a Pinap Berry.

All im doing now it hoping for more Hatches for the candy and hopefully a good IV that will become my future Tyranitar.

EDIT:

In terms of then maxing it out to lvl 30...it gets allot more unlikely obviously.

Someone could have caught a higher than lvl 20 Larvitar and then evolved it, or found a low lvl High IV Tyranitar and used all their candy to power up.

The total cost of fully evolving a hatched lvl 20 - 125 plus all the power up candy, is a push for being legit i would say.

As for the 3000CP+ question, Dragonite and Tyranitar have the highest available max CPs but don't reach 3000 until about level 30.

Dratini and Larvitar spawns depend entirely on biome. I think I live in a desert biome and I never see wild Dratini. I've gotten all of my wild Dratini from beach trips. However, I have hatched a lot of Dratini and I have seen and caught a few wild Dragonaires and Dragonites near home. I think the evolutions must not be limited in the same way to biome.

I have caught a half dozen Larvitars so far and hatched a few also. At this rate, assuming it continues, I should have enough candy for a 3000 Tyranitar in about a month. I have seen YouTube videos of people encountering wild Pupitars and Tyranitars, so that is rare but possible like Dragonaire and Dragonite and probably are biome breaking also. It helps also that catching evolutions now gives more candy.

Well you must be lucky because I have never hatched a Dratini. All I get are Jynx and Lapras. Look at this guy on Instagram, is this even legit? There are so many people with line up like this one..

The Heracross stands out, since it's regional to South Florida and parts of Texas in The US. The others are possible if the trainer is dedicated and lives in a populated area.

I just levelled up to 35. No cheating, no trackers, no spoofing. Have only just got my second Dragonite after walking many miles with a dratini. Only ever saw one Dragonite in the wild, which ran away. Hatched a Larvitar and I am walking it now. I have seen just one Larvitar in the wild, got there too late. So assuming I keep walking 10 km a day as I have done up till now it is going to take me another 70 days to get enough candy for a Tyranitar at over 3000cp. Maybe a bit sooner because I might hatch another or see another Larvitar in the wild. So I do not know how so many people manage it. If there were lots of them around where you live you should have seen them too. To be honest I have only just seen one Tyranitar around here in a gym at around 2000cp. I believe it can only be done by cheating or walking a marathon every day. But please do not be discouraged, just play your own game and enjoy it.

So everyone who has a pokemon over 3000cp is a cheater now? Flawless logic there. I just love how lvl 26 players (who play 'regularly') are complaining about stuff like this.
To answer your question, it IS possible to have a 3000cp+ Tyranitar, though mine is only about 2700 because I'm out of candies.
To your other question, yes there are a lot of cheaters.

I was lucky enough to hatch a lavitar on the second day of Gen 2 and I have 40 candies so far and I don't have time to walk every day, so I can see how someone who plays full time could walked more candy or hatched a second or third one to build up candy. I have seen two 3000+ Tyranitars at the top of a couple of gyms in my city. I'm sure more are coming. At my pace I'm probably a couple of months away. Maybe I can log some extra kilos for spring break and shorten that.

Have one Tyranitar can be a LOT of luck or real hardcore gaming, but have several Tyranitars is hacking for sure.

Well, there certainly occurs a lot of cheating. Gen II was introduced on Friday, Febr 17, and in my local town (Western Europe) there was a gym boasting a 3025-CP Tyranitar on Monday, Febr 20.

Don't let anyone tell you the opposite: you are right in being suspicious. It may be possible to have already a Tyranitar but not very likely to have one over 3000cp. And I am seeing players with 2 Tyranitar >3000cp in my city. It's a water biome and never saw one larvitar on sightings yet. They are clearly spoofers.

Besides them, it is possible for some players to have many +3000cp pokemon. With dedication it is possible. But it happens in my area that well-known spoofers are the only players in the whole city with 3 Snorlax over 3000cp, Gyarados, Dragonite are even common in my area, but snorlax is not. Even walking snorlax 1000km you get only 200 candies. Not enough to max out 3 snorlax, barely two. I have walked in total 1900km since the game was launched, 900 of them with chancey. I have one blissey level 30 and a second one level 33.5. I hatched over 7 chanseys and one of them with double candy event. With all that I'm not even able to max out one of them...How can somebody have in his possession 2 max out tyranitar without cheating?

If there is a survey pointing out that 20% of players are spoofers you can imagine that these players concentrate their efforts on gym control. Coming back to my experience, at least one third of players in gyms are cheaters. In my area I know their names in the game. I have seen them taking down a gym with nobody around, I have seen them putting several accounts on that gym, even I have recorded them doing that. And I almost know their pokemon roster as well as my own. That's why I am sure that when you are suspicious it is for a reason.

Even Niantic has admitted the big issue that spoofing means for the game and that they are struggling to tackle it...

Well depend how much you play, and how much you invest in incubators. I have a friend who play total legit, is at lvl 39, played 4-9h a day since gen2, hatches 25+ eggs a day, and also got very lucky with 10km eggs, 7 larvitars. So that player now has a nice tyranitor at 3200+ and without cheating the slightest.

When you play a lot, you know who's cheating, and you know who's playing legit. I can tell you what every legit players in my area looked like (no matter what teams). I can tell you what car they drive.

I can tell you who's using multiple accounts because I saw them doing it.

And I can tell you who's cheating/spoofing because after all that, I never saw any of them, yet they already had multiples Chanseys and Tyranitar only a couple of days after Gen2 release. Makes me wonder how they can run a bot 24hr a day without Niantic raising even an eyebraw...

Im not saying they are not cheating, just since gen 2 release I've hatched 2 larvitars(97/89) iv and 4 Dratini, in NYC I encounter these 2 mons almost everyday. im sitting on 80+ larvitar candies atm so i guess its not too hard to have a Tyranitar already. But I haven't hatch/encounter a single Lapras so far, and im lv.34, my girlfriend hatched 2 before lv.20... such BS

I encountered on in the wild over 3000CP. Caught it.

Ran into a trainer defending 2 gyms with 2 Tyranitars over 3000CP and didn't even want the hassle of doing the gym and walked away.
