Save your candies?

Well my guess is there is some sort of related to candies event coming, but it is posible it won't be a double XP event and it is a half power up or evolve cost or probably they surprise us with breeding in the near future and it cost you some "candies" to make the baby, who knows.

I would keep saving those evolutions but use the eevee trick ones just in case they got removed in the future, at least to get that pokédex entries, I have 10 new entries saved to a mass evolve session in case there is a double XP event and around 200 evolutions, but I have evolved my Espeon and Umbreon just in case.

Well candies are used for only two things, powering up and evolving. I kinda hope that the "save your candies" remark was just a snarky comment to make us think. Mainly cause I just spent 70 Snorlax candies powering up a legacy ZH/BS. I used to have 1 or so spawn a week around the house before the change to tracking. Now I have no idea if they're even there. If you have the eevee candies I would just evolve the thing unless they are rare in your area. What's 25 candies vs a hypothetical 12 or so? Evolving 125 candy 3 evolution mons is another story altogether though.

Any chance there could be a candy exchange bank run by the professor (or someone else)? Perhaps with exchange rates like 100-500 Pidgey candy or 50-200 Eevee candy given for each Dratini candy received? Or 5-10 Bellsprout candy for each Tentacool candy?

It would be a way (like the buddy system can be, or nests for those who have easy access to them) to offset biome differences. For example, even though some people are swimming in Magikarp candies, I just evolved my first Gyarados after getting halfway through Level 33. I hardly ever see Rhyhorn or Growlithe too, even though I know they're relatively common in other places. At this point I have only one Arcanine, and, thanks to a lucky nest and the buddy system, a whopping TWO Rhydons.

But I do have 2000 Eevee candies ready to burn.
