What are Trainer Levels like in your Local Gyms
Not the CP range, because lower level trainers can have Dragonites/etc.
This was a Gym by my work (not in pokemon order)
28,two 30s, two 31s, 33, two 34s, two 35s and it wasn't that unusual a Gym.
I'd have to say most players I see are 30-33. On my team I see a few 34s, rare 35s, and only two 36s... I have yet to see a 37+.
((I dont pay as close attention to levels of opposing teams))

Can confirm. Am valor and am constantly fighting uphill vs. Blue/Yellow. I find that Red has pockets they control with all lvl 10 gyms in an area, but outside those safe havens they really don't bring much to the table.
I see yellow or blue take down a gym and by the end of the day it's at least lvl 7, if not 8-9
When I level up a gym I'll level it 1-2 levels higher than I need to just to put some empty spots to try and entice people. More often than not it sits there all night with the empty slots until another team takes it :(
Yeah, I learned to settle for a couple gyms on the edge of town that I keep an eye on. We've almost reached a non-verbal agreement about where the turf boundary is.
It used to be that every gym constantly turned over. I mean, literally every few hours at most.
But Basically I stopped hitting their gyms (as most other Valor seemed to drop off the map) and every time they touched our gym I would go out and solo their gyms down to ashes as quickly as possible - preferably within the hour. I didn't want there to be any doubt why that gym that was lvl 10 for a week got burnt to a crisp. Always made sure to put a defender in too - none of that anonymous wimpy BS
I'm proud to say that we've gone from not being able to hold a gym for longer than a day to often going a week or longer without them crossing the line B-)
Now granted, our turf is smaller than their turf, but it's better settling for a steady 3-4 Mons in gyms than going out and trying to put 10 new ones in every single night.
I'm level 29 and often the lowest level player in allied gyms (at least any that are taken seriously and not just put in something weak to hold it for 10sec).
I'd say most of the gym holders are level 32-33. There are a reasonable number at higher levels, and I've seen several 38-40 (then again, I saw level 39s and 40s way back in September... the guys just don't seem to get banned).
Other teams seem to be similar. Instinct rarely holds any gyms so most of the time it's a level 15-25 that's just throwing in something low for quick coins, but when Instinct does train a gym up they're all around levels 28-35. Mystic perma-holds most gyms and the two level 10 gyms I see right now are like this:
