Mass evolution...
What would be the maximum number of pokes you can evolve within 30 mins?
Answers
I did 80 2 last times. Both times my game was once crashed in process so I lost opportunity to make more. But you must have good phone with no lags or delays.
60-70 is very good number anyway.
You can make some list before evolution like:
Pidgey 30,
Rattata 3,
Geodude 2.
So you will scroll and evolve faster and don't waste time to open pokemons without candies.
I favorite all the queued evolutions to keep them at the top of the list.
I typically get 70-80 evolves, but I'm usually slowed down by lag and a few new Pokedex entries.
My process is Evolve - unfavorite - exit - repeat.
I did notice that you have to unfavorite after the evolve. If you unfavorite, then evolve, the evolved form is still favorited.
Jampokes, here are my recommendations for you. Some might have already been mentioned by others:
- Rename the Pokemons you plan to mass evolve when you catch them.
- The format I use is numbers. 01, 02, 03, 04, ..., 99. I stop at 99 becuz you can't mass evolve more than 99 during the 30 mins no matter how stable your wifi, how fast your phone is.
- Also, by renaming this way, you keep count on how many more you need before mass evolution. I had experienced using symbols once or naming them all the same, but the drawback is you can't keep track on how many more you need to catch.
- Before you pop your lucky egg, sort Pokémon list by name and they will all go to the top.
- Then, as you mass evolve, you only need to scroll down once per 6-9 evolutions.
- No need to favorite them. I use favorite on good Pokemons to prevent accidentally transferring them.
I did a mass evolution 3 days ago and ended up doing 75 Pidgeys. I know it's possible to do more but the game crashed once and I spend some time on getting double bonus on both daily catch and daily spin. Which I figured would net me more XP then if I do a few more evolutions. I have never actually timed it, but in the time I spin my daily Pokestop and catch my daily Pokémon, I will probably only be able to evolve at most 3 mons which would give me 3,000XP. But the double XP coming from daily Catch and daily spin is > 3,000XP. One caveat, make sure your daily catch is a Pokémon that can be caught easily to not waste time. Don't do it on a high CP or low catch rate mons like Charmander, Squirtle, etc.
Hope this info helps.
As already said by other people, 90 is maximum, but this number can be reduced depending:
- phone quality
- signal quality
- high scrolling
- transferring pokemon
- new pokedex entries
My standard is about 75 mons with old phone with crash, wifi, +30 pidgey included, no transferring and a couple of new entries
A list made before start lucky egg help a lot, I am too lazy to rename them
The evolution animation takes 18 seconds, so ignoring everything else you can evolve a maximum of 100 Pokémon during an egg (100 x 18s = 1800s = 30 minutes). However, that doesn't account for selecting each mon, pushing the evolve button or closing the mon after it evolves, so the actual number you can evolve is fewer. Personally I've never evolved more than 85 in a session although I think 86 is doable.
All the tricks above are fine you just need to pick one. One note, however is that if you can avoid scrolling, you'll save yourself a few seconds. Personally, I just wait until I have 85+ pidgeys and then I sort by number and scroll until the top-most pidgey is at the same height on the screen as the evolve button. That way as I evolve each one, it moves to the bottom of the list (since its # changes) so I can click in the same spot again. That minimizes extra steps and maximizes the number of evolutions I can do.

I tested it out. With planning and speeding, with a phone that doesn't lag at all, stable Internet connection and not making mistakes, you can do touching nearly 85 pokemon.
How:
•A-Z list
•Have exact amount of Pokémon that match how many candies you have.
•With Pidgeys, start from the bottom until they run out....NO TRANSFERRING OVER takes too much time
•click everything as fast as you can (evolve button, check after they evolved, next pokemon to evolve) will need stable connection and a non-laggy device
•Make sure notifications, phone calls and everything doesn't get in the way during the lucky egg session
•Write down ALL evolveable pokémon and how many times you could evolve them with the candies you have. That way you know exactly what pokemon you going to evolve first-last(according to the A-Z listing)
I have done this and with 1 lucky egg i could touch 85 Pokémon getting 170,000xp but im waiting until double XP event in which i have 10 lucky eggs ready(even though ill probably use like 5 cause i have about 1500 pidgey candies) so during this event i could get nearly 2 million xp!! Hopefully i have more pokemon to evolve and use more lucky eggs to get myself to at least close to level 35 (beginning of lvl 33 right now)
