Legacy Machamp vs. New Machamp

So the legacy Machamp was crap until this past update, now KC is actually good and CC is on par with DP according to this site.

So what is the preference on something like Machamp? He is somewhat bulky and hits really hard whether you have a legacy KC / CC which is good for dodging and charging your bar or C / DP or Close Combat for hitting hard on quick moves.

In a prolonged battle with Blissey which moveset would be preferable? KC for charging the bar and launching CC constantly or C for melting Blissey health then hitting the occasional DP or Close Combat.

I have a 95% IV legacy Machamp and trying to get a new one

I'm pretty sure even with dodging quick moves Counter + Dynamic Punch is the best overall offensive moveset for Machamp. I could be wrong, but I think it's the preferred moveset in just about every scenario.

C/DP outperforms KC/CC, but not by much.

Raw dps lists, that don't take into account a full rotation or the differences in time of a full rotation are not worth the web page they are written on.

...and that is without even mentioning dodging and other variables.

I have a legacy KC/Cross Chop that I maxed out before the update. I recently evolved another one but got Heavy Slam, so I can't make a comparison. That being said, my legacy one (2557 CP) can take down a higher CP Blissey (tried it on a 2906 CP) without timing out.

I'm still torn between saving candies for a new evolution or powering up my lv20 KC/CC.

I tried a 2500cp KC/Sub Machamp that I had been using as a defender, and offensively that is massively improved - it took down a 3000cp Snorlax whereas previously it couldn't manage a 2500cp one.

God so many people with legacy moveset kc/cc that they maxed out are so salty now that its not nearly as good as c/dp... lmao..
guys please just stop... c/dp is THE BEST machamp moveset now and its not even close.

Not salty, curious how it stacks up in game with all the extra energy KC gives. It doesn't do as much damage but does the increased use of CC counter balance that list, especially in a long battle?

No it does not. A legacy Machamp just deals 20% less damage than a new one with best moveset. This is based on cycle damage, so it tends to be even more correct for a long battle.
