I never saw trackers as cheating. I know by the TOS they are, or I think they are. But they don't generate free pokecoins, they don't teleport you across the globe, they just show you where the good stuff is. You still need to hoof it to get them (provided you're not also spoofing).
I'm an Android user and as such have not had a workable tracker ever. But I don't care if the Apple users have it. ...Teleporting around the globe to steal gyms and generate resources that cost actual dollars to buy is a different story.
I was at an event a few weeks ago where the person who had the most gyms won a prize. I had 1 gym. someone had 6...and the winner had 55 gyms. I can't see ever getting 55 gyms without spoofing, but that's a LOT of free gold (incubators, lucky eggs) and dust for nothing. Trackers show you where a mon is...you still need to go get it.
I'm not blurring the lines. I understand trackers are against the TOS, just saying I personally don't care if people use them.

They do generate free pokecoins. Level 34 here, and only made one Dragonite so far as they are extremely rare here (Only seen 7 Dratini so far and only one was decent! Getting close to 1000 km walking with a Dratini, while still hoping to catch a second decent Dratini to evolve). Yet, two or three players here happily occupy all the gyms in my area with only Dragonites (so they all have about 15 Dragonites each). Yes, they could have travel to a better biome, but more than likely, they are simply using maps. So, sorry, but tracker generate pokecoins, otherwise, what's the fun in that.

PokeTracker had a issue where it can get the IP you are using soft banded if the person scanned too much. I use to use Pokevision to see what is around me but after the shutdown last year I use the horrible in game tracker which never works or hunt with friends as I find when using the in game tracker different trainers saw different pokemon nearby.
There are alternatives if you google but they require fake accounts, Capacha solving, or just don't work.
because they are from pre Gen2. Someone had posted a link to a sniping forum on here before that shows GPS coordinates so I'm sure there is a working 3rd party tracker out there Ninantic haven't sent a Cease and Desist letter to yet.

Everything is taken as an insult these days even though it wasn't meant to be. You may read the post an insult because you took it out of context and spin it so it would trigger you like a fox news reporter trying to get TV ratings. Someone else may read the post and laugh because when taken in context it means something else such as the nonsense on this forum where comments are down voted for no apparent reason.
Reading text is very hard to decipher especially when the individual reading it is perceiving the context based on their current emotional state.......
