I did that once. Prestiged a gym up to level 10 and was all proud and then was like what the hell happened, then I saw my name and said OOPS!

Or my personal favorite, is someone is hiding for 20 mins while you are prestiging a gym up to level 9 by yourself and snakes your spot !

Im guilty for that as i did it once when another team try to take over? but later on happened to me so yeah i hate it?

Just got sniped after prestiging against a bunch of Blissey's. Not the first time it's happened (by a long shot), but this one hurt. Very time and potion intensive.
They were obviously waiting and watching because they snuck it in within 3 or 4 seconds of my final victory.
