I plan on upgrading my phone in the future but as of now 3 common moves slow down my phone to the point of being unable to dodge charge moves. With the recent power upgrade to charge moves it is really devastating. Psychic, Water Pulse, and Fire Blast are near impossible to dodge due to slow down. I recently went to a nearby level 10 gym that I have the pokemon to tear down, yet it has an exeggutor with psychic and two water pulse vaps all in a row. I can't dodge any of their charge moves and just get destroyed. I think this is a common problem but does anyone have an answer other than upgrading the phone?

I had an iPhone 5s. It would crash after every gym battle. Or if I didn't restart the game it would crash when I started a new battle. The lag was horrible and even though I was dodging I would get him by the charge move.

Just got a new iphone 7 plus last week. Best investment I have made. It is a must if you battle gyms.

Just do it, get a new phone and do it today. The difference is night and day.

I intend too! One question... does it still have the problem where if they initially register you as not dodging a charge move that you dodged it kills you but then tries to change it back and forth? That is crippling.

I prestige up two gyms today and I did have that happen. Not as much but there is still the bug where you successfully dodge but you get hit with the full charge damage only for it to revert after and replenish your health back to where it was. Problem is, if that was a "killing" blow then your mon looks like it has fainted and you will have to switch it out.

It is a huge pain and it still happens every now and then. But the lag/gym battles and dodging is so much easier on a new phone. I find I miss dodges much less now. Can't help the server lag bug though when you dodge but it doesn't register right away and you still take initial damage. Sucks.

Spending 700 dollars for a phone is a rip-off for me. Im suprised that like 500 dollar phone (iphone5) cant handle this game. My Samsung s6 (330e on black friday) can run pokemon go at 60 fps.

Good thing I didn't spend $700 on a phone. Sometimes I forget that depending where people live they have to pay full price for phones.

Part of the problem is also lag due to poor cellular signals. Even public wifi has some lags. But yea, your 5c is fairly old... might as well rule out the hardware side of it and get a new phone. 6s is plenty powerful.

If you like the size format of the iPhone 5, check out the iPhone SE. Same size but updated components.

I think the dodge bug is caused by lag between client and server, so more dependent on cell reception than cell phone processing power.
