Missing button. Cannot put Pokemon in gym

One day I trained a gym. Just as my Mon dies the defender died as well. I then tried to put Mon in the gym but find the button for inserting Mon in gym (oppose to the training button) is missing. I thought maybe someone sniped it but the number of Mon in gym is less than the level. I have also tried the same gym many times after and still same thing happens. Cannot out in my Mon. Others seem to be able to do so, and my other gyms working fine too. Glitch? Any idea how to solve?

Would suggest fighting it again to 'reset' the fight you appear to be locked in to.

Already tried that, no luck :(

someone may have sniped you. there's no wait on prestiging contrary to when you take over a gym. this happened a few times to me. pmo. especially when i train it up 8000xp. mf's!

You were sniped by a team member.

Happens to me frequently which is why I just mostly battle rival gyms now

Check and see if you have a pokemon in that Gym already,

If you do, you won't get a button to add :>

LOL, happened to me once, the frikking button didn't show and I restarted the app twice till I realized the fat Snorlax on top of the gym is mine..

Yup, did this a couple of times and realized I already had a mon in this gym.

Happened to me once. After several days, I discovered I actually had already a Pokémon in the gym and I had simply forgotten XD. Double-check just in case ;)

This has happened to me, too.
1) prestige up the gym.
1a) button to place mon in gym does not appear.

1b) but not sniped.

question to you:
Do you see the circles and crown on the top of the screen when you enter the gym?
Crown --> top mon
circles --> mons in the gym
empty circles --> available slots for more mons.. Prestiging creates those empty circles.

It took a minute or two, but I found out the reason the button to place a mon in the gym did not appear for me......

I was already in that gym. Totally forgot.
