87% IV Machamp with A def moveset
It happened that i got a Machamp with bullet punch/submission. Good base stats + annoying attack (submission) and quit high CP pokemon. Will it be ok as a defender?
I know he is never gonna be as efficient as a poliwrath or anything in Top 10 defenders.
Just for fun and diversity, is it ok to power him up? Does he do the job as a defender?

Would be more fun if everyone didn't just put up the top 3 into gyms. But hey, if you like the mon and are satisfied with the IV and moveset then what the hell.
It's nearly impossible to know if it's worth it for you, as there are so many factors that go into a decision like that for me at least. How many other mons are you powering up ahead of this? How much stardust do you have? What level are you? Do you have enough Machop candies? Should you wait for a "better" Machop? How fast can you replenish your stardust after fully powering up this mon? So many questions, hope you think it thru.
Im lvl 32. I already have a strong team of 20 defensive pokemons including 1 Lapras 2 Snorlax, 1 Dragonite, 2 96+ Vaporeon, 2 90% Executor, 2 Poliwrath, 2 Slowbrow, 1 93 Venusaur.
ATM I have nothing really exciting to power up, i can either power up another 96% Vap', another 91% Executor, a 91% Tentacruel, a 87% Hypno, (I prefer to wait for a better IV Hypno) all with n°1 defensive moveset and a 98% Wigllytuff with C rank moveset. OR this Machamp. I've powered up very few offensive pokemon, only a 100% Jolteon with thunder and a 96 rock attacks Golem.
I have no dust atm but i make some quite fast. I will have 100K in a few days. I have arround 100 candies
I think he would be fine to power up, as you are in the point in the game where powering up another Vaporeon seems really boring. Your gym defender team is stronger than mine so while I would do another Vaporeon or Exeggutor, I can see your appeal to power it up. I recently just evolved my first Machamp, 93 IV, but got Bullet Punch and Stone Edge. Ugh! I was really hoping to get one to use as an attacker vs. Snorlax.
