Let's talk about DRAGONITE :))
Please share me your thoughts as I have been wondering...
I know many of us prefers Move set, some prefers IV's, others may prefer both, and there could be few who doesn't care at all. HAHA
Well for me preferably I prefer Move set than IV's but in some instances, Great IV's with Rank A Move set is a big "WOW" but that should be applicable to Pokémon's that can be seen, hatched, caught, evolved often eg. Arcanine & Exeggutor for example (they are the best/high tier Pokémon's achievable/attainable) but talking about Dragonite???
0% IV Dragonite = 250 att - 212 def - 182 sta
100% IV Arcanine = 245 att - 195 def - 195 sta
100% IV Exeggutor = 247 att - 179 def - 205 sta
Why are people so picky!? Its like nearly impossible to get 0% IV Dragonite right? so 40-50% might do just enough and if we happen to get 70% above then lets be thankful and so as for Arcanine & Exeggutor its nearly impossible also to get a 100% IV or might be possible but could take a very long wait. Still a Dragonite is much stronger in the current metagame.
**I'm just a Dragonite fan hahahahaha :)) Any opinion?

to be honest,
iv is for hardcore players,
as long as we are playing against AI,
those iv differences don't matter so much, unless
you are playing like a 24/7,
in long run, better iv kills faster, last longer,
and that make sense to have a better iv one,
and Dragonite has the highest cp value, so
its going to be at the top of most gyms even with low iv
so if you are not a hardcore player, just skip it
btw, if you know the location of a Dratini nest, its easy to get a good Dragonite
unlike Snorlax and Lapras, which is a pain and luck to find one with good iv
Chinsky is 100% right. Dratini nests are no joke.
I was fortunate enough to be near a Dratini nest early on and being a 'hardcore' player I evolved four 100% Dratini's (all different movesets too).
I do have a fifth Dragonite (my very first), which was 97% luckily as that was before I checked IVs. Ironically it's also the only one I have that has an "A" ranked moveset (defense). I'm sitting on nine 97% Dratini's right now too that I will gladly trade for one Lapras or Snorlax.
Hah Southern California (LA). There have been multiple nests through the different migrations but early on was when we hit it hardest (my two roommates and girlfriend). We were among the first in our town to post up Dragonites in gyms.
I haven't evolved a Dratini since though or caught many even, so I haven't been able to fully amp three of the four just yet. I'm making a business trip next week to San Francisco though which apparently is a hotbed for Dratini's, just got to find the time. ?
I agree with you chinsky. I love checking IVs. I hold my perfects in high regard. There's just a lot of post of people unhappy with 89iv top tier rare mons on here. They really need some perspective on how much a few percent will effect overall performance.
In the end it's the Pokemon species that matters most, IVs are almost there just for flavour and they aren't seeing it that way.
People are pretty picky about IVs. I check all mine, but am very realistic about the end result. 50 percent is fine with me in some situations, I'll catch/evolve more later. Games are for playing, not waiting.
The appraisal system doesn't help. It cracks me up to catch a 2000 dragonite and hit appraise and read "it won't make much headway in battle" lol. It's a little misleading to newer players. I've got a 67 snorlax, am I gonna power it? Damn right I am. A few points doesn't mean a thing to me, and to the people that say the cp will be lower than others in gyms, do they assume all mons in gyms have 100 IV?
