Is my alakazam any good now?
So i've had this 82% iv alakazam with psychocut and psychic for a while now. I caught him like that so you can imagine how happy i was. It was the first and still only one, HAD an amazing moveset and his IVs are pretty good considering i barely catch anything over 80%. I put quite alot of candies and sd into him ( i believe he was around 1500cp when i caught him) And now i hear that after the rebalancing this moveset actually sucks ass so... what the hell. i'm definitely salty but my question is: is he any good anymore? HOW bad did this moveset actually get?

Of course he's still good. Just because there's a new more powerful move doesn't render the old one "useless." Psychic still ranks up there with the best. Cooldown time is almost identical with Future Sight. But FS is about 25% more powerful. Worst case scenario.... start evolving a better Alakazam again.
Your Alakazam HAD the absolutely best offensive move set. Now, it has a sub-optimal move set that is still utilizable.
I understand your frustration and I feel that it is justified. I myself feel salty as FUCK about some of the recent Niantic changes.
The level of investment in obtaining and building an "ideal" Pokémon is very high, involving tremendous time, effort, luck and perhaps money. To see your best Pokemon turn into shit after an update is discouraging.
I feel strongly that move set customization (by way of TMs) should be introduced to add flexibility to the game.
What do you think?
I'd be immensely happy if this was an option. It's just so unfair to max a mon out and then realize it got kinda shit after niantic had to change something again. And if that's too much it could be an alternative to give players all or a part of the candies they used for powering up back if they decide to transfer that mon. Or something just something else niantic could come up with that wouldn't make this such a pain in the ass.
I have 3 with that moveset that I evolved way back when he was originally garbage. After he got buffed it took awhile getting used to attacking with him but once I did I was so stoked and maxed all three up.
Then he went back to being garbage when they slowed al the quick moves.
I haven't tried him since they sped things up again but I'm hoping he's still worthwhile. I never really cared about his charge move because I seldom used it. Just pc while dodging everything
