Under appreciated Pokemon

What's your favourite under-appreciated Pokemon?

Mine's Magneton - lousy stamina, but can do a lot of damage to otherwise hard to attack Pokemon whilst it lasts.

Yours?

Mine is Wigglytuff (with pound and hyperbeam), despite not having a very high CP it is a great great attacker versus everything. I tried to adopt Raichu (with spark and thunder) as my favorite under appreciated pokémon, but is very difficult to use it in gym combats because of the very low stamina and my bad dodging skills

I have a good pound/rough play one and it's pretty beast. I can kill a 2k vaporeon and snorlax with it before it goes down with proper dodging. It's a 91% 15/14/12.

It's like, like a mini snorlax. You get a lot of dodge practice that way too.

Raticate w/ bite hyperbeam. Deals good damage and is good for training gyms.

Jolteon with Thunder and Pidgeot with Wing/Hurricane.

If used right, both can deal LOT of damage. And they are REALLY fun to play with.

Pidgeot is definitely under-rated through how common they are. A high CP one can be a slog to get through as a defender.

With Wing/Hurricane they can melt Exeggutors, and that's not a little thing considering there aren't really good fire mons besides Arcanine in the game.

Plus they are really fun to play with.

I recently learned by luck finally having my first high cp flareon that they wreck Exeggutor so hard it's not funny. Beat the hell out of a 2100 Exeggutor with a 1600 flareon... Half health remaining. Was better than a 2000 Arcanine I evolved...

Hypno. Tentacruel.

I love Hypno. I have a 89% Hypno with Zen/Psychic (best moveset).

Too bad Psychic movesets are not that useful since the only "important" mon that they could deal extra damage is Poliwrath.

Yep. He just tougher than he looks and not many weaknesses. All of tentacruels movesets are useful as an attacker and lots of resistances, he gets no love.

Not saying they are perfect. But they are good enough to invest some in I think.

I love those two pokémons too, especially for defense. Tentacruel with poison and blizzard and the hypno with both psy moves are wonderful and not as loved as they deserves.

The problem with Hypno is that, even tho he doesn't have many counters, he also can't counter anything. I mean, except for Poliwrath, there isnt' any 'popular' mon that Hypno could take extra damage from.

A native Psychic mon like Hypno is like a 'Neutral' mon.... and imo that's not really useful in a game that is about counter-attacks.

Yes, I agree. But the sad thing is that the type advantages here in POGO are not really significant, x1.25 is no that much as was in other games x2. Actually having STAB gives your mon the same extra damage as not having STAB but having the type advantage

1 is Pidgeot, very usefull against Grass type and Poliwrath. Destroy anything with Wing/Hurricane
Then Jolteon for Gyarados and even Lapras.
Then Hypno, Tentacruel, Golduck as defenders with the right moves, I find them tough to defeat.

Butterfree - It's frail as paper but can do serious damage to Exeggutor and Slowbro. I use it a lot as a trainer as it can usually take out 2 of those if I dodge.

What level are you? What level is the Pokémon and what move set would you suggest? I've tried butterfree, but I think it's just not high enough level or bad moves. Even with correct dodging I'd rather use something else.

Chansey.
Incredible to level up (existing) gyms! (At least before the last update that lets you use 6 Pokémon ;-))

Definitely Chansey even if it has low CP.

I can train a gym with my 6 Chansey with above 500CP and with Pound/Hyperbeam.

I got 7000 Prestige once

Really? I've completely ignored chansey after trying it unpowered once. Can you give me a rough estimate of what it can take down?

Your Chansey must have pound / hyperbeam otherwise it is useless for me. Also you need to have quite high CP one(400 and above). It can take down almost any pokemon with 800CP and above which is great for training a gym.

In the previos gym trainning system I liked lickitung the same way as chansey, it was like a mini-chansey, same power but less potion consumer

I would have to say for me, Hypno. Not the quickest in battle, but as a pure psychic Pokemon, it can definitely hold it's own. I also just find Hypno really fascinating.

Nobody have mention Marowak? with good IVs, mud slap and DIG (he's the only decent stab user of this brutal attack), It can be a really surpresive defender. MY other favs are my legacy Omastar Rock throw / Rock slide and Magneton with that stab flash cannon and such an incredible resistances

Lol your pokemon is nice but very weak, destroyed by any water pokemon who are the most easy to find. Sorry
