On this site it says the true dps for psychic is the same as future sight for alakazam but this can't possibly be true. I have a legacy zam that's 100% and has psycho cut and psychic. It was one of my favorites. I'm currently level 34 and he's fully powered up. I've seen some debate on which is better between confusion and psycho cut, but it seems like future sight makes psychic obsolete. Should I stick with the zam I have or should I shoot for a future sight zam. My current best abra is an 88%
I personally would wait until definitive calculations are made, but I think that FS is better. A part from that if you are looking for best Physchic mon, Espeon with C/FS seems the way to go at least at this point.
I am pretty upset about this change on Alakazam attacks, got me 5 tries to get PC/Ps on a 93% one and after all dust and candies expended I feel it is totally worthless now...
I evolved a 96% Eevee 15 13 15 into Sakura Espeon and got C/FS.
I'm still not sure if that's his best moveset because about EPS ZH>C, and FS is a very strong, but 1 bar move.
I'll wait until we asses the situation wuth movests before investing stardust onto psychic attackers, while I fully powered up a 91% Machamp with C/DP
Alakazam with PC/P worthless?! No way. Still has the highest attack stat in the game. PC may not hit as hard as Confusion, but it generates energy quicker and you can dodge faster... which is exactly what you need to do at all times. FS may be the best move now, but Psychic is still no slouch by any means.
For me it is worthless, not the mon of course, just the effort I put into it because I only have powered always up the best movesets, and now with the appearance of Future Sight, Psychic is not the best option, you can get PC/FS for example and Espeon is better than Alakazam as a Psychic mon now.
The reason I am upset is not that I have PC/Ps, is that I have invested 5 evolutions (625 candies), plus at least 140 candies and 150k dust on a mon that is no longer the best Psyshic or overall attacker on the game.
Sorry if I did not explain better myself, but for me it feels like a huge waste.
lol that will happend every time for most games, something new will come up that makes existing things obsolete, that's the way it is... imagine the main game series where not only this happends, but pokemons, moves and items get banned after you put time and energy into breeding/finding those...but it's better than having a stale game where even when new content is released, it doesn change anything.
You now have a new goal which is getting a good IV, good moveset espeon, and yes that too might someday become obsolete/nerfed, but that's the nature of the beast.
Espeon is WORSE than Alakazam on attack. Just try them out and you will see that PC makes all the difference in the world. Espeon with ZH or C can only atk 1 time between opponents moves while PC can hit 2-3 times and still dodge! Also PC generates more energy so it is superior in every way on attack especially with a glass mon like Espeon or Alakazam.

Alakazam has been my favourite for a long time cause I evolved mine with Psycho Cut / Psychic on a first try back in the days where he was totally useless. I knew the day would come they're gonna make him a strong mon so I hold on to him.
Lately it's been fun with astoundingly strong Psycho Cut melting down almost every opponent so I'm kind of upset that this is over...
BUT Alakazam remains my favourite nonetheless, Psychic as a charge move is not very far behind FS and Psycho Cut generates energy faster than Confusion and you can use it TWICE between the dodges.
Alakazam still has the highest attack stat in the game and his power is great with any moveset combination of Psycho Cut / Confusion / Psychic / Future Sight.
No need to cry about it. He's still super strong.
