Gyarados Bite/Twister Legacy

I haven't tried it, but the only Gyarados I had been able to evolve came with Bite and Twister so I left him aside. Now, after the update it seems this moveset is not that bad at all. Has anyone try him in battle?

Haven't tried him, transfered the the one or two I had with twister since magikarp is common for me. But the purpose of this move rebalance is that no move is useless to the point of not using it because DPS dropped (old twister). I'm sure it's not as good as some other moves but it's viable now if it's what you have to work with.

Adding bugbite and struggle bug, all bug quick move is so trash now

I agree. They need to shorten the cool on bug quick moves and lick at least half way back toward what it was.

I think it's fine for Defending gym Jolteon eat a chunk of damage now every time I missed a twister dodge and I tend to miss more from the thundershock CD 0.6-->1.1. Not sure about attacking though

I have 2 gyarados left untouched at around level 20 with that move set. Would be interesting to see if they are worth to power up.

Yes, Twister Gyarados is a frickin pain to fight now. Good luck dodging all those charge moves, plus Bite does 66% more damage on defense now.

Twister is now better than befor, because charge moves were buffed, but Garados has MUCH better defensive movesets now.

Crunch, also a 3 bar move, has 70 damage compared to Twisters 45. The slightly longer cooldown of Crunch does not have a big enouth influence to close the gap of 210 to 135 damage for 100 energy.

Outrage, a 2 bar move with 110 damage each, deals 220 damage for 100 energy and has even a shorter cooldown than Twister.
(2x (3.9+2) compared to (3x(2.8+2))
Plus 2 seconds because of the ~1.5-2.5 seconds added to cooldowns for defendig.
