Bellossom buddy distance different from Oddish
With the release of Gen 2, Oddish has recently become a lot more scarce in my area. So, I walked with an Oddish to get the last few candies I needed to evolve a Bellossom. The buddy distance for Oddish (along with Gloom and Vileplume) is 3km, but after the evolution to Bellossom, the buddy distance became 1km.
Bellossom isn't yet listed on the buddy candy list on this site, but on Silph Road, it is indeed listed in the 1km category. I can't find any similar examples of one pokemon having a different buddy distance than others in the same evolutionary line.
Any thoughts on why this would be?

Not sure if I understand you correctly, but when I was walking the Oddish earlier today, I needed 3k to get a candy, and as soon as I evolved to Bellossom, the distance changed to 1k. So, it's not just a matter of the lists on these websites not being updated, Bellossom actually has a different buddy distance in the game. Looking at the buddy distance list on Silph Road, I don't see the same anomaly with, for example, Politoed and the Gen 1 Poliwag line; all are listed as 3k buddies.
That's because poliwag stayed as a 5k egg. Oddish was a 5k egg and now it's 2k, Onix was 10k now it's 5.
He's not saying the values on this site aren't updated, he's saying Niantic haven't updated the buddy values in game for Pokemon that changed what egg they come from, so if this theory is true, then Pokemon that changed egg distance and can evolve in gen 2 should have different buddy distance values.
Well, that's a theory, and I appreciate the effort, but I'm not sure I buy it. For one thing, buddy distance and egg distance are independent. For another, Silph Road still lists both Onix and Steelix as 5k buddies. That doesn't prove anything, but if accurate, that would contradict this theory.
Maybe the reduced buddy distance is a hidden benefit to evolving Bellossom, which requires a special evolution item, yet is objectively a weaker pokemon than Vileplume. I'm no more confident of that theory than of the egg-distance correlation theory, but I think it is just as good of a guess.
